“Lunchtime meal”
Reviewed 16 February 2014

I went for the second time in 6 months for a meal with work colleagues during our lunch hour.I am pleased to say that the service and the food was better this time round although there is still room for improvement with the food. I have had jacket potato on both occasions and it still feels a little cold.

Have just returned from a 2 night break with my husband. We had a room in the stable block which was lovely and quiet. Staff were very professional. Comfy beds, good food and good choice of drinks at the bar. Great breakfast! Hotel really close to town centre but in a quiet spot.
Only downside comment - The Stable Block entrance could do with a good hoover!

Will definitely visit again.

Room Tip: The Stable block has ground floor rooms if you have mobility problems, but you do have to go up a fe...

Thank you for your comments regarding your stay at the Manor. I love the Old Stables too. Very comfortable. I have spoken with the house keeping team about keeping on top of the entrance area cleanliness. I apologise it was found wanting.I hope to see you again at The Manor soon,

Regards

I have stayed at the Manor twice now, and this second stay surpassed the first. The Manor is a nice 'olde wordly' pub/hotel, ideal as a base for business trips for Yeovil and surrounding area. Previous experience of a single room was average, but this time the double room was good size and standard (perhaps needs a bit of decorating for wear and tear, but in no means shabby). Bathroom and room clean and tidy, decent shower etc.
Bar and restaurant are nice, very reasonable prices for decent 'pub grub'. Chips could be improved though, always seem a little undercooked - in my opinion.
Breakfast menu is good, with good mixed selection. Staff are friendly and polite, WIFI is available in the room via Cloud access.
I guess I'd give 3 and 3/4 stars if I could, but this is not a negative review, and you could do a lot worse than stay here, for these prices. Would recommend.

Room Tip: Pay the little extra and have the double room - better experience/comfort.

We booked last-minute as we had an awful night in the hotel we had originally booked. I don't know why we didn't book The Manor Hotel to begin with. Staff were very professional and friendly. We had drinks and a meal and we enjoyed everything. The food was delicious and they had a good selection of drinks.
Our room was very spacious and clean. The bathroom was a good size. Most importantly, the bed was very comfortable.
Next time we visit Yeovil, we will definitely be staying at the Manor Hotel.

Booked into this hotel for an overnight stay. Arrived at 2145 hours and asked about food. No problem we were served and excellent meal despite the late hour. Excellent nights sleep in a clean and comfortable room. Good breakfast with an excellent choice. Very reasonably priced hotel in a good location. Warm and friendly staff. I shall return.

Room Tip: All very good.

My partner and I came here to celebrate New Year's eve. We had a pre-dinner drink in the cosy bar area with comfortable seats then we had a lovely meal -which was a self serve hot/cold buffet with lots of choice and plenty of food. The decorations looked great and the entertainment was a disco.
The hotel was packed and there was a mix of large groups to couples such as ourselves. The staff were friendly and helpful. Just before midnight everyone was given a free glass of champagne for the countdown -a nice touch.
We will definitely be back!

Went to this hotel for a few drinks in the bar area, it was nice and cosy with dimmed lighting, we did not eat here but the menu choices looked rather appetising.
The staff were very friendly and happy!
The toilets were very clean and I'm sure the hotel rooms would be just as nice.
Would defiantly recommend for a quiet drink or a bite to eat.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Refurbished three years ago The Manor is located in the Somerset town of Yeovil with easy access via the A303. An Ideal base if visiting Yeovilton, Sherborne. Built in 1735 by local glover and merchant banker John Daniel, the house was known as Hendford House. After he passed away the house was rented out until 1927 when it became The Manor Hotel. A manor it may not be, but it is certainly elegant enough to be one. Its classical facade and porch are of warm, mellow stone, and to its long single wing, also of stone. It has a cheerful modern bar with scrubbed floorboards and pale beechwood furniture and fittings. Today the hotel is a firm favourite with locals and travellers alike. You will be assured of a very warm welcome and great hospitality. Yeovil is the ideal spot from which to explore Hardy's Wessex. Nearby attractions include Glastonbury Abbey. ... more   less
