Booked in by friendly member of staff. Stayed in the annex Sables on the ground floor. Room, average. Bedding clean pillows lumpy. We stayed for dinner which was average as was the breakfast. Had to ask for a pot of tea as we were going to be served a cup with a tea bag in it. Wine was reasonably priced. It was loud everywhere as there was a wedding taking place during our stay. Central for Yeovil town centre. Cheap Hotel, you get what you pay for.

Room Tip: The Stable block is quieter than the main building.

Nice stay in a quaint old hotel. It was hot and the room had no a/c, however it was quiet enough at night that leaving the windows open worked out well. Ate in the restaurant downstairs for dinner and breakfast with good meals and service at both meals. Front desk staff were helpful in suggesting a nearby nature preserve for jogging.

This Hotel is extremely convenient to the town centre. We only stayed for one night and had a ground floor twin room in the 'Stable Block' annex. It was a relatively comfortable stay, however if we returned I would probably request an 'upstairs' room as it was a particularly hot night and with no air conditioning in the room we weren't happy about leaving the window open as the car park was right outside our room, so safety was an issue. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was good.

Room Tip: Cannot comment on the rooms in the main hotel but the twin room in the 'Stable Block' annex...

Stayed here for two nights and had a long list of disappointment. Stay somewhere else.
The room was in the attic which was so hot it was unbearable, asked for a fan and they said they would endeavour to find one, didn't hear back, and it turned out they don't have any. Woken by pigeons on the roof all night! Had two dinners here, the first was chicken and chips, turned up with 12 chips and no coleslaw, asked for more as this wasn't good enough and they came with what must have been left over in the pan! Second dinner turned up with half the veg, asked where the rest was, waitress left and never came back!!
The room was not really cleaned after the first night, bed was made but rubbish left in bin, cups let used, ironing board left out...it must have taken 5mins to clean!!!
Please up your game!

We booked a superior room and were not disappointed. Room 7 sported a 5 foot four poster bed, a walk in wardrobe and a bathroom with bath and separate shower. The room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was an extremely hot day and there was no air con or fan. We left the windows wide open and slept without a quilt. All the staff I spoke with were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good and freshly cooked. I booked via late rooms and would definitely stay again.

We stayed at the same time as most of the foreign air forces attending Yeovilton air show so the hotel was full and noisy. There was also a wedding and an 80th birthday and although the staff were clearly busy their professionalism was top draw. Ashleigh on reception was the star of the show with her calmness and cheerful demeanour she organised a procession of Belgian, German and Swiss air force personnel many holding cans of drink!

The food arrived after a wait of about 20 mins, which was not unreasonable, and was lovely. We had steak followed by ice cream and staff were happy to provide one ice cream and 2 spoons.

As a real ale lover i was disappointed to find only one ale available, but it was in good condition.

The room, ours was the Manor suite, was very nice with high ceilings and a separate room for the bathroom, but it hardly warranted the title "suite". The problem was the heat. The room was like an oven and as has been stated before it wouldn't be difficult to go to the superstore next door and buy electric fans. The plumbing has a peculiar way of only providing heating for 5 showers at a time so if you are 6+ you have to have a bath or wait. This was only told to us as we notified the staff of the problem during breakfast. Perhaps, as part of the check in, if this is mentioned it would give customers the information they need especially when the hotel is busy. The room was at the front of the hotel and it was a busy Friday night. With the windows wide open we heard everything!

Would i come back - yes, but not during a heatwave!

Room Tip: Rm 9 is at the front of the hotel and in the hot weather has many people sat outside drinking till c...

Just spent a sleepless night at The Manor in rooms that were so hot and stuffy, that it made us feel ill. Requested a fan but, they didn't have any. When we complained they stated that they were sorting it. Surely, this would be easy enough by going out and purchasing some!
Will never stay here again

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Refurbished three years ago The Manor is located in the Somerset town of Yeovil with easy access via the A303. An Ideal base if visiting Yeovilton, Sherborne. Built in 1735 by local glover and merchant banker John Daniel, the house was known as Hendford House. After he passed away the house was rented out until 1927 when it became The Manor Hotel. A manor it may not be, but it is certainly elegant enough to be one. Its classical facade and porch are of warm, mellow stone, and to its long single wing, also of stone. It has a cheerful modern bar with scrubbed floorboards and pale beechwood furniture and fittings. Today the hotel is a firm favourite with locals and travellers alike. You will be assured of a very warm welcome and great hospitality. Yeovil is the ideal spot from which to explore Hardy's Wessex. Nearby attractions include Glastonbury Abbey. ... more   less
