“Character pier”

Worth a walk on a good summers evening. It's a shame the beach is pebbled and not sand it would attract a lot more people to the place.

“Traditionial Pier and we love it!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 May 2012

We love Worthing Pier for it's quiet, traditional feel and for the absence of tacky stalls and noisy fairground rides (Brighton is only down the road for folks who want that). The pier is well maintained, retains much of its elegant architecture and design, and is always a lovely place for a stroll or a place to sit up a bit of sunshine. There's a traditional amusement arcade, which still has some old-fashioned penny machines for those who like to save up their coppers!

Our only negative about Worthing Pier is that the Council are STILL allowing the large building at the end to be used as a nightclub. Not only is this a complete waste of a lovely building, but it could serve far more people and also benefit a much wider section of the local and visiting public if it were instead re-opened as a tea-rooms or good quality cafe, or perhaps a fresh seafood restaurant. The nightclub needs to go!!

Anyway, we love our traditional pier... and nice to see it featured in a recent Sainsbury's TV ad too!
