Description: Giuseppes is an authentic Italian restaurant in a historic building in the centre of Worthing. We pride ourselves on creating a real taste of southern Italy, by using high quality, authentic ingredients in our dishes and having a warm, welcoming atmosphere. You can choose from a wide variety of dishes, from traditional favourites like lasagne and spaghetti carbonara, to locally sourced steaks, fish and seafood dishes. Or if you want the type of dish you'd find in an Italian trattoria, go for our agnello alla norma (slow roasted lamb shoulder with aubergine and salted ricotta) or osso buco (deboned veal shin served with saffron risotto). You have a choice of a wide range of reasonably priced Italian wines or Sicilian coffee to go with your meal, and if you're feeling indulgent finish your meal with one of our home-made on the premises desserts. We prepare all our food fresh to order, so we can be very flexible with special dietary requirements. You can find our full vegetarian and gluten-free dishes on our website. We also welcome children, and offer a three course children's menu for £4.95. If you're looking for a great midweek deal, we offer our quick, affordable 6 9 12 Lunch menu Monday to Friday. If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to contact us. We look forward to seeing you!

“Hidden Gem of a Restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

4 friends and myself booked a table at Giuseppes after seeing reviews here on Tripadvisor. I'm so glad we did. we needed to carb load as we were doing the London to Brighton bike ride the following day and we had a great meal.

for starter I had Scallops wrapped in Parma ham. My wife chose the peppers with goats cheese and the others went for the fried mozzarella. All were great. I had tagliatelle with fillet for my main as did one of our party. we also had two lasagne and a chicken Caesar salad. All the meals were perfectly cooked and served. The fillet was beautiful and the sauce was very well balanced. A great meal was had by all. We had a couple of glasses of wine and a few diet cokes. we didn't stay for dessert or coffee as we were up early in the morning.

The service was very good, attentive, professional yet very friendly and with real personality. The price was surprisingly good at less than £25 per head. I wish we could have been a bit more adventurous with our food choices but we need to keep it simple for the following days ride. we will be back.

“Seek it out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2014

Yes, it's tucked away - and when you get in there, following a very warm welcome by Pedro (otherwise known as Giusepe) you are just a little cramped for space yourself as the tables are close and slightly shoe-horned BUT this might have just been we were so full after eating the wonderful very Southern Italian generous plates of food, it was even harder to get out than into the tables! We ate a starter of frittata, one vegetable and the other squid. Both were delicious with appropriate dips and sauces and good to share. (We should have ordered just one!) I followed with salmon, arriving wrapped in a foil parcel containing the most yummy sauce, clams, prawns, calamari and mussels -a quite different serving of salmon and delicious. My companion had chicken in a creamy, mushroom sauce with new potatoes and broccoli. He struggled to finish, but finish he did AND had a little of my homemade raspberry sorbet as well.

Service was speedy, discreetly witty and not a giant peppermill in sight!

Thank you for your positive review, we are happy to hear you enjoyed your meal with us.

Yes, the restaurant is very intimate, however come July we will start works to expand, and come autumn we should have more seating, and more space.

Portions are generous at Giuseppe's, as we want to make sure you leave feeling satisfyingly full, which it sounds like you did :)

Looking forward to welcoming you here again soon!

“Good service, Great food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014

My partner and I ate in Giupesses on Saturday evening and had the garlic bread to start which was lovely. We then had the Kings Platter for our main. This dish is huge it is for two however you could share it between four.It had on the platter a whole lobster which had been cut in half 2 sea bass fillets, a mountain of battered calamari, scallops, monkfish, king prawns and the most delicious mussels. This was served with salad and chips and 2 glasses of Prosecco. We were far to full to have a pudding. This is the second time we have visited this restaurant and would recommend it.

Thank you for such a positive review, its great to hear you felt well fed with us!

The Kings Platter is one of our dishes we feel most proud about. With its diverse selection of fresh seafood it is a real treat for any seafood lover. Yes, it could be shared between 2 or 4 people, just depends how hungry you are!

We do have some lovely desert options, so next time we hope you won't be too full to try them.

We look forward to welcoming you back soon!

“Fantastic service and delicious food!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 June 2014

Tucked away in Warwick Lane is a jewel of a restaurant. It has what you're looking for when you want someplace great to go and eat: hearty portion sizes, homemade food (nothing artificial or corporately bought in) and service which makes you smile. You can't also complain about the price...my huge bowl of gnocchi pescce was under £10.

I've been to this restaurant with friends and recently chose it to host a Hen Party with 33 ladies attending. I have to say the attention from Giuseppe and his team was amazing, not only on the night, but also right from the planning stages. They also joined in with the surprise and ensured the Chief Hen got spoilt on the night!! We were all impressed by how our 33 main courses came out at the same time, piping hot and huge portions....can't say this for a lot of places!

I love the flexibility of this jewel - from an intimate dinner to somewhere you can linger with a coffee on a Tuesday morning or indeed take over a room with a party. You know you're always going to have a good time with perfect food and attention.

So the next time you're strolling in Worthing and feel the pull for a cup of coffee or plate of food take a little stroll down Warwick Street and tuck yourself away in their Italian atmosphere for a couple of hours.
