“Charming hotel, friendly helpful staff, good location for shops and beach”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2011

First visit to Worthing. Friendly town. Hotel very comfortable with friendly, helpful staff. Good shopping centre a 5 minute walk away. Beach and pier just round the corner. Great fun watching people, children and dogs at low tide. Dogs had the best fun ever! A delight to see. Slight olde worlde feel to hotel, but good dining room and excellent breakfasts. Bedrooms a tad on the small side, and the bathrooms too, but everything you need, and quite cosy really. TV's small old fashioned analogue, but you're not there to watch tv! Restaurants closed early on Sundays, or didn't open at all, so make sure you know where you're eating on a Sunday night. Was a first class Noodle Bar takeaway on the corner near the pier. Recommend that highly, but can't remember what it's called.
Hotel has games room downstairs with pool/table tennis, a well stocked library, wifi, bar, and it was a very pleasant stay for all of us. Worthing Shopmobility excellent if you need to hire an electric scooter/wheelchair.

Stayed here with my husband and we were given the most lovely dual aspect room, 4 poster bed (this was actually quite lumpy and uncomfortable, my husband did not get a good nights sleep but that was the only downside to our stay) raised seating area overlooking the beach. The room was a great size with flat screen tv on a swivel bracket so you could watch it in bed or in the seating area. Free wifi which was good too. The hotel was quiet, guests were mainly elderly people who danced the night away to a guy on an accordion.

We didn't dine in but the breakfast was nice the following morning. Not a huge choice of fruit (only grapefruit or prunes) and only one sausage and rasher of bacon but still delicious.

The staff were all very friendly and polite and we will definitely be returning!

Thank you for your review and for your kind words which have been passed onto the appropriate departments.
We would also like to thank you for bringing our attention to the 'lumpy' bed in your room, we are unaware of things such as this until customers point them out - the mattress was replaced immediately.
There is a fruit salad option on the breakfast menu, this is kept in the kitchen so it stays as fresh as possible and is available to order from the waiting staff.
Once again, thank you for your comments and we look forward to welcoming you back to the Chatsworth Hotel in the near future.

What a wonderful experience to have come across the Chatsworth Hotel! Its location in Worthing is ideal, it's excellent value for money and made all the better by being privately run by a hands-on proprietor who has maintained traditional values whilst offering all the facilities that today's guests require.
I found the staff extremely helpful and courteous and the restaurant meals were well balanced with pleasing choices to suit most people. I also thought the wine list was sensibly priced, offering a good selection at affordable prices.
I very much look forward to my next visit!

We live in Worthing and decided to treat ourselves to the special Valentine's Day deal at the Chatsworth which was a meal for two, including a bottle of wine and an overnight stay with full breakfast, all for £109 which we thought was excellent value.

We had never been inside the hotel, let alone stay there but were very pleasantly surprised. It is elegant and comfortable with a rich history. The room was clean and the staff very courteous and helpful. The evening meal and breakfast were both good.

The only slight downside of the hotel is the lack of parking but it is free from 6 pm until 9 am in the road outside the hotel and closeby.

For anyone visiting Worthing, this hotel is in an excellent location. It is very close to the sea (we had a sea view), pier, town centre and cultural venues.

I booked up to take my husband here for valentines day. the deal was room, evening meal, bottle of champange and breakfast. When we booked in at reception, we was told our room had been upgraded to a seaview room, free of charge.Well when we got to the room, the suprise was a lovely room with a four poater bed and a view over looking the sea and the garden to the front of the hotel. The room was just perfect for the occasion. In the resturant that evening the food was of a high standard and the staff very willing to please, even the restrurant manager welcomed us.The hotel was of a very clean standard and reception staff chatty and friendly.

Stayed for a long weekend away at this ideal hotel in great location. Amazing sea views from our bedroom which were of good standard and cleanliness. Hotel breakfast set us up for the day. Brighton only a few miles away which made for a lovely day out by the sea. Staff very helpful and pleasant. Parking was adequate and accessible. Planning to stay again this March.

Just had a group stay at the Chatsworth Hotel over New Year. Feedback states that the rooms were comfortable. Reception was helpful and friendly and the food and service in the restaurant was very good. Service in the restaurant and at reception received an average of 9.1/10 and food 8.8/10. We found the management and staff were helpful and polite. Well done The Chatsworth, keep up the good work.
