“Fantastic venue for a wedding”
Reviewed 5 November 2012 via mobile

We had our wedding in the hotel and stayed, along with several of our guests. The hotel staff were excellent and could not have been more helpful throughout the afternoon and evening. The meal was lovely and there was plenty of it! The room we stayed in was beautiful and overlooked the beach and pier. In the morning, they arranged a table for us all to sit together and breakfast was again really good. I would definately recommend as a venue for a wedding or for a weekend away.

My wife and I spend three nights in the Chatsworth and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. The staff were friendly and helpful; the restaurant, in particular, was extremely pleasant and our bedroom, which overlooked public gardens, comfortable and well equipped. The only minor quibble was the heating which tended to make the bedroom rather hot at nights. The food, especially breakfast, was good and the restaurant service excellent. All in all, a relaxing place to stay and although parking outside the hotel could be tricky, we didn't experience any problems ourselves. As it happens, one could spend time here without needing a car, as the hotel is only five minutes walk from the seafront and the shops. We'll certainly be returning.

I will give this review in plus's and minus's. I'll start with the minus's, which are not terrible, but I thought were worth a mention. The parking is difficult, you will be lucky to get a space outside the hotel, but if you do the charge for the day is very reasonable. Otherwise you have to park in the multi- storey up the road at £4.00 a day. The hotel rooms are quite small and dated, but on saying that are very clean and tidy. Rooms at the back of the hotel are facing a bus garage, luckily ours was at the front and overlooked a nice park. Can be a bit noisy but nothing too bad.
Now for the plus's. Everything else really. The staff were fantastic, nothing was too much trouble. The food was really good. Overall it was a lovely stay and I would definitely return. I would recommend this hotel and have given it 5 stars. Not forgetting the location is great too.

Our church had a great weekend away at the Chatsworth earlier this month. There were about 70 of us including children/teenagers and the hotel handled the event without any hiccups at all. I thought the staff were really friendly and the food was great (better than previous visits by a 'smidgen' perhaps!). Overall a seamless quality experience.

Room Tip: Four poster 'premium' rooms at front of hotel good

I recently led a group holiday to Sussex and we stayed for three nights at the Chatsworth. We were warmly greeted on the coach by the manager and from then on all was of a very high standard. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the food the (silver) service in the dining room was first class. Several of our members had problems in their room all of which were dealt with swiftly and satisfactorily. For example, at six am I found the switch on our kettle was broken. I rang Reception which had just opened, to ask either for a replacement kettle or a tray of tea for two. Almost instantaneously a new kettle arrived together with the morning papers, delivered by a smiling member of staff whom I believe had been on duty all night. The hotel is in a prime position near the shops and on the sea front yet quiet, comfortable and attractive. My wife and i cannot wait to find an excuse to stay there privately.

Central location, busy hotel, dated but clean and comfy. Our room was small, but clean and bed super comfy. Walls are thin and you can hear alot of what other people are doing or saying - alot of banging doors....all night.
Our room backed onto the bus depot - VERY NOISEY , and the police cars park up and come and go from there too - I would reccommend ear plugs if you want a milli second of sleep - The bathroom shower was on a pump so again created more noise - you could also here next doors shower pump which was like a small aircraft hoovering!
all in all clean and cheap for a KGB deal - tip would be to ask for a front facing room!
Nice breakfast, good hot cup of tea and friendly staff

Room Tip: ask for a front facing room

Thank you for your recent review and kind remarks regarding the rooms and breakfast.

I am sorry to hear that you found the room noisy from the buses. Many of our bedrooms are secondary glazed and for guests who do find the buses noisy we do generally reccomend a higher floor which does reduce any noise.

We hope that this did not affect your stay too much and look forward to welcoming you back to the Chatsworth Hotel soon.

Booked our stay with Chatsworth hotel after finding an excellent offer on Dealcloud for our 10 year wedding anniversary. Right from the initial phone booking enquiry the Chatsworth hotel staff were friendly, helpful and polite. Booking confirmation informed us of the lack of hotel parking but advised us of several alternative parking sites and reduced rates that the hotel had negotiated so we were already prepared before our arrival.

When we arrived at the hotel on Friday afternoon we were pleasantly surprised by the location, overlooking gardens and close proximity to both the town centre, seafront and pier. We were greeted in a warm friendly manner, details on how to get reduced car parking rates were once again given.

The hotel itself was warm and clean, it could benefit with a bit of updating in the not too distant future as had a slightly dated feel to it and some carpets were showing signs of wear but everything was clean and functional. There were 2 working lifts available.

Our room itself was on the small side but again warm, clean and in good order equipped with Freeview TV and coffee making facilities.

We didn't opt for dinner at the hotel but did have a rather delicious Sussex cream tea and breakfast both mornings and the food could not be faulted.

All in all we had a fantastic weekend and would definitely recommend the Chatsworth and hope it's not too long before we get the chance to go back!!
