SHOCK NEWS TODAY, this great tea room is BEING FORCED TO CLOSE this week, maybe their HOTEL landlord who gave them notice thinks they can do as good if not better than the great oeople working there already fir the past years

THAT IS VERY UNLIKELY If the poor standard of their poor buffet is anything to go by, (once eaten twice shy)

Good luck in the future ladies we will miss you

Had a lazy afternoon stroll at Highdown and stopped off for tea and cake. Delicious and well priced. Will return

Pleasant inside but even better in the sunshine outside this tearoom serves wonderful food most of which is "home made". We enjoyed the Highdown Ploughman's served with Pate, Ham and Stilton wonderful bread and all the trimmings and a Mozarella, basil and tomato toastie and were feeling full before we left...but we did buy cheese scones and a rock cake to take away and eat that evening.

Fabulous food, nice people and great value - we'll be back! Highly recommended!

Stopped for lunch on the way home after shopping. Ordered sandwiches and tea and everything was very good and fresh. Cakes and scones looked good too. Lovely spot with nice walks around and plenty of free parking. Worth a visit. Recommended.

We went in to the tea room after a walk around Highdown Gardens. It was a very sunny and warm Sunday afternoon, and the tea room was understandably busy. Seating inside and out, and popular with dog walkers. There was a good selection of tea, coffee and cakes/scones. Although nothing was labelled as suitable for vegans, when we asked they said that the scones and flap jacks were, and even showed me the vegan marg they used to make them. I almost didn't have a scone as it wasn't labelled as vegan, so my advice would be for them to label them as so in the future. Would go back.
