“Delicious sour dough”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

Top lunch here - so nice to have a place in Worthing that is both interesting to sit in and offers really good food at reasonable prices. That plus great views across to the Pier too. We are definitely coming back very soon.

“Lovely light lunch”
Reviewed 6 May 2014

Popped in here with my husband for a quick bite yesterday, what a super lunch we had. The place is decorated with loads of vintage touches. Lots of old stuff to spot and say 'do you remember those'... Tea is served in a vintage cup and saucer, with pots that don't drip! I had the mackerel pate with sour dough bread and it was delicious. It was served on a board with a good helping of salad with olives and pickles. My husband had a ham and cheese toastie and it was wolfed down. Really nice to have lunch somewhere with a slightly different menu and great value prices plus great views across the road to the Pier too.

“Short Visit - not impressed”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

Arrived to get a coffee to take away. Grumpy waitress wasn't impressed and didn't make me feel welcome at all. They did not accept cards, did not offer military discount and overall it was not friendly or good value for money at all. So, will not come back here again instead got a lovely big coffee for half the price and better service just round the corner vintage maybe but vintage rubbish as we had in the 80's lol

“Coeliacs beware”
Reviewed 22 April 2014

My sister and I are both Coeliac and I made very clear our dietary requirements before we even sat down and were reassured that we could be safely catered for. We ordered breakfast and although one order arrived wrong was otherwise good. The problems started when we tried to take advantage of the promised gluten free cakes on offer. We were informed AFTER we had eaten that one of the cakes we had been served was infact NOT gluten free and this mistake was caused by a misunderstanding between the (young) waitress and the chef. It transpired that the cakes were not labelled and so this was a mistake waiting to happen! The (?) manager apologised and told us she had a relative who was coeliac so she understood the condition was not merely a dietary choice but a necessity and our bill was reduced however we were both unwell after our visit which ruined our weekend and cannot be compensated for. There was a wedding on that day at the Dome and the staff in the cafe did seem very distracted by this. I also felt the young waitress should not have been the one who told us about the mistake, she did not understand the implications of what had happened and was not to blame. What a shame we had this bad experience as there are precious few nice places for coeliacs to go out and eat and I would have liked to have used the Dome Cafe again. I fully accept that those of us with medical conditions should not expect different/special treatment but when the manager was so positive about being able to cater for us we were hopeful.
