I live in London but grew up in this area. It is nice to see Worthing finally getting some forward thinking - this little stretch of beach has been invested and developed nicely, so it can look a little like its European counterparts with planting etc.
This little cafe virtually on the beach is great for an afternoon coffee or beer. But I have been here four times now, and it just needs more switched on staff, and raising the bar on the friendliness stakes wouldn't go amiss either.
It's a hippy beachfront cafe - but staff always appear a bit stressed, like they haven't run a cafe before. So not quite as relaxed as the cafe appears on the outside. The wheels need a bit more oiling..
I had a beer yesterday, but there was not even a smile as I gave the woman the money. This is how you build a reputation - through good, friendly service. You can also get ice-creams, but you might want to get them out of the freezer AFTER you've paid...!
I'm not sure what their licence is, but given the hot few weeks we've been having - it is a shame they are not open later, like European beachfront cafes (!), to take advantage of the sun, sea and folk who might want a coffee later than 5ish...that would be perfect!
