I live in London but grew up in this area. It is nice to see Worthing finally getting some forward thinking - this little stretch of beach has been invested and developed nicely, so it can look a little like its European counterparts with planting etc.

This little cafe virtually on the beach is great for an afternoon coffee or beer. But I have been here four times now, and it just needs more switched on staff, and raising the bar on the friendliness stakes wouldn't go amiss either.

It's a hippy beachfront cafe - but staff always appear a bit stressed, like they haven't run a cafe before. So not quite as relaxed as the cafe appears on the outside. The wheels need a bit more oiling..

I had a beer yesterday, but there was not even a smile as I gave the woman the money. This is how you build a reputation - through good, friendly service. You can also get ice-creams, but you might want to get them out of the freezer AFTER you've paid...!

I'm not sure what their licence is, but given the hot few weeks we've been having - it is a shame they are not open later, like European beachfront cafes (!), to take advantage of the sun, sea and folk who might want a coffee later than 5ish...that would be perfect!

Friends looking forward to a Beach Party on a hot, summer's evening. Firework display to look forward to an added bonus.

Naturally due to the weather, the fireworks and the fairground rides on the prom it was a very, very busy night. Sadly the people running the bar didn't foresee this and weren't best prepared. The queues for the bar and toilets were long but after the wait to then find there was none of the famous white rum drink from the Caribbean, only a passable cheap substitute, there were only two flavour choices for crisps, and, despite arriving around 8.30pm which was less than half way through the event's advertised times, there was no ice so our evening didn't get off to a great start.

Don't get me wrong the people serving were apologetic however on a hot night, such as it was, a drink without ice wasn't ideal.

There is a shop not far from the cafe which was open till late and they could have sent someone to get ice or possible someone could have driven to the local supermarket express branch and bought ice there and sadly we decided to move on to somewhere that did have plenty of ice (not to mention the well known white rum drink from the Caribbean).

Next time, which I think is fairly soon, stock up BIG TIME!!

We know coast well - it's good for coffee, and light bites, though you need to be careful not to go when too busy as the wait for food can be too long. Stef the owner is a good chap. He'd probably be well advised to employ staff that are a bit more switched on - makes a big difference to the experience when the people are good.
We went to the solstice event with music all evening. It was fab. A stunning event and a real plus for the town. Well done.

We called in for a cupper whilst having a stroll along the sea front. Everything was average. Coffee as usual over priced. Hardly any cakes to choose from. The tea cakes we chose were small and a little burnt with the smallest scrapping of butter (Tesco's basic!). They stop hot food at 4pm so miss out on the passing mums with their kids en-route home from school. Didn't find the staff very friendly or the place particularly clean. Probably won't visit again.
