“Lovely staff, view and service!”
Reviewed 4 March 2013

I've stayed with my husband on a cold and windy night in february. Despite the weather everything else was just the way we wanted to be. The staff and service was amazing and the food was delicious, don't have enough words to describe it. The room we stayed in. was comfy and warm enough, we had a great sea view and we enjoyed every moment. I would definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends and family. We wanted to come back in summer this year but the hotel was booked already for the dates we have requested and the receptionist was very kind to tell us that if they get cancellations will call us strait away and book us a room. Can't wait to go back!

We stayed here on christmas eve, unfortunately the place lacked any Christmas spirit or cheer. Our room was very clean and modern, unfortunately it was also unbearably hot and stuffy. Our evening meal on Christmas eve was not very nice and almost inedible. the breakfast the following morning was not very pleasant either. It seemed that the staff were too busy preparing for a big Christmas lunch and they did not pay much attention to the guests already staying. We were happy to leave on Christmas morning and will not be returning.

The first thing that was so bad the lift was not working and we had to carry our cases up 3 flights of stairs. My brother & wife stayed also. They were on the 4th floor and had to do the same and he has asthma.
The room was large which was good but the bed was like a rock and the pillows as flat as a pancake.
At breakfast they got our orders wrong and mine did not come at all with the others. It had to be reordered.
We will not be staying here again.

I stayed here last year 2011 after my wedding and we had a lovely honeymoon room and the room soi stayed in the early summer 2012 this was the worst time.
i gave it the benefit of the doubt as i was giving it a second chance. The bar staff were very good and efficient and very helpful and i actually had quite a laugh with a few of the girls. HOWEVER!! the male receptionist was trying to be polite but actually being very patronising and was trying to tell me politely that i was wrong and that somehow my tv was working when i clearly know it wasnt, so then i was told that someone will be back up to sort my tv out in 10 minutes however an hour later, still no one so i went down then was shouted out as he was under pressure as it was a very busy saturday night, however this is not my fault they cant handle their jobs? finally they came but the tv didnt work so i had to change rooms . THEN i asked for room service but got charged £4 this was a joke! and the poor girl had to walk up 3 flights of stairs to give it to me then when it got here she the dinner was extremely COLD! there we go thats my rant for the day just think again before you stay here!!!

We stayed here overnight for a local Hallowe'en party. The Hotel was busy, but the staff were helpful. The rooms were large and like the rest of the hotel decor were a confusing mish mash of styles; the hotel definitely lacks some kind coherent style/theme/identity. The bar where we had breakfast displayed ominous signs about drug taking and CCTV surveillance, which was slightly off putting as we tucked into our Full English breakfasts. The breakfasts were great, with views onto the seafront, and were served by friendly efficient staff. So a bit of a mixed bag of a hotel all in all. All the basics are completely covered extremely well, it just lacks a bit of soul!

We stayed here during the early summer 2012, what there was of it (summer I mean lol). The wind blew and the rain came down. The hotel rooms was large and we could see the sea from our window (well sort of through the dirt). Although I'm sure if they cleaned them once a week, they sea spray would make them just as dirty after a couple of days.
The rooms were clean and the bed was good. The room was very warm however and when we opened the window a hatch in the ceiling blew out right above the bed, which was quite amusing especially when my husband did his best to close it.
The bar gets very busy so it can be difficult to get served, but staff were pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was good, actually I dont really remember it so it wan't anything to complain or write home about.
I forgot to mention the plumbing, in our room the plumbing made an awful noise, we noticed during breakfast that it matched with the staff using the sink in the bar area. It is an old building so we supposed it couldnt be helped.
There is a chinese restaurant next door, I dont remember it's name, but the food/service/price were all wonderful and I would highly recommend it.
For a short stay this hotel is ideal and we will be using it again.

Room Tip: Make sure you visit the chinese restaurant next door for your evening meal, rather than use the hote...

We wanted a traditional place to stay on the waterfront at Worthing, The Burlington was a very comfortable Hotel, traditional high ceiling spacious rooms but with a modern bar and feel. Very much enjoyed our stay.
