We called in hear one evening recently, with the intention of eating.. that didn't happen!
The place is in an affluent area of Wolverhampton, is a lovely building and deserves better owners and staff.. they should be ashamed.
The car park looks like it's never been swept in places - glass/cans/food wrappers etc - a circular plant bed at the front, overgrown and full of weeds (definitely no gardener) with similar issues in the rear garden seating area, overgrown shrubs encroaching on limited space, the lawn not cut and a mess, outdoor furniture deperately in need of a coat of something (may I suggest petrol, the shabby state of it..) and most shockingly of all.. a carpet of cigarette butts across the paved area (very attractive), these weren't a days worth or even a weeks, it had to be at least several.. PLEASE!!
It was disgusting and completely put us off eating there, we finished our drinks and left, passing the little group of bar staff - who were all chatting when we came in and still there when we left - don't they care, aren't they bothered? The money may not be great, but show a little pride/effort/gumption.. SWEEP UP!! And where's the management??
It's ONLY redeeming feature is, that it was refurbed not that long ago and is smartly decorated, though one or two rough edges are starting to appear. Having spoken to friends since, it appears they too have stopped calling in this once busy pub/eatery.. you have been warned.
Food marked as "Poor" because told by friends this was the case.

Visited tonight was very friendly got a nice seat right next to the fire.
I was there with my wife she had the pate which she said was very nice I had the samoas which were also very nice .My wife had a fish pie which had big chunks of fish in it
I had the mixed grill cooked just right no complaints there we even ordered our puddings at the same time making the £2 each.
So we both had a drink each and a 3 course meal coming to £33.40 which I think is great value there are alot of over priced pubs in the area who serve rubbish but the place isn't 1 of them, I will go back very soon .

Stops there unfortunately...there is far better drinks and food just round the corner for the same money.
Used to be a comfy homely pub...decent beer and good value food..No more though

So sorry but felt I needed to let people know. It was horrible. Bar staff rude. Food cold and greasy. But the worse thing was the the dirt. No loo roll, no lights working.need to hoover. Glasses had lipstick on. Goodness me couldn't wait to get home and wash my hands.Sorry but I may being kind.

Food was okay, to be honest like alot of places its all heated up quickly (pre cooked) but the best meal had there is the grill night menu, thats quite good value and really nice. Service is really good staff are attentive.
