“Pleasant day out”

Wightwick Manor and Gardens
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 3 weeks ago via mobile

Visited here with my daughter today..never been before and have always wanted to. The gardegarden parties held eretns were lovely and makes you imagine what the garden parties must have been like in years gone by! The wooden adventure playground is a lovely addition my daughter loved playing on the equipment. Fascinating art museum and a fun picture hunt for my daughter no prizes but fun to take part and make the visit more meaningful for younger ones. Lots of space to eat at the cafe prices are quite expensive but this is to be expected as most eateries are in visitor attractions wherever you go! Plenty of space to sit and enjoy a picnic though and think I will do this next time! The house is lovely it was very busy being a bank holiday Monday so would like to go back when it's a bit quieter to appreciate it and take more time to look around..I would avoid busy times n future as it is a little tight for space in places everyone pushing and trying to get passed on narrow stairways..some adults haven't learnt how to wait!! It would be nice to have seen more pictures of the family and information on the rooms there was a lot of information but not on what I wanted it to be about! I loved seeing the servants quarters as it fascinates me how they lived. Will be back at a quieter time!!

Stunning place set in beautiful grounds. Gardens, shop, and tea rooms all selling lovely items. Staff very helpful and plenty of parking spaces.

Visited may bank holiday Monday. Got there early so parked easily, though when we left it had filled up not sure if there's a great deal of parking. The house opened at 12pm so we had coffee and cake in the cafe which was very good. The house is beautiful and there's knowledgeable staff in most of the rooms . There's arts and crafts furnishing throughout making it seem really cosy . We then went around the gardens and lake which are very well maintained and pretty. Well worth the visit !

This was my first visit to Wightwick and I really enjoyed it. There is so much history related to the grounds and everything was really well maintained. The lighting showcased all the artifacts really well, while still protecting it. The volunteers were all very knowledgeable and approachable. It was clear that they loved being part of the project and that they were all given great training by the National Trust. I would definitely recommend.

This beautiful place which was owned by the Manders paint family, is a must see. We only had limited time here because of our schedule but managed to see the amazing house full of William Morris wallpaper and furnishings plus beautiful paintings and furniture. All the NT staff in the rooms were so knowledgeable and friendly and couldn’t have done more. There is a small gallery which is worth a visit and the refreshment area provides good food and drinks. We shall return to check out the grounds and gardens another time.
