“Fun, interesting and relaxing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

What a lovely place. The house where Charles II took refuge while escaping the republican troops. The bed is the same he slept in. The gardens are a joy, and there opportunities for fun for children, too. The cafe does lovely tea, cakes, and soup. And if the weather is nice one can sit outside in the garden. Overall a totally lovely experience

“Love this place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

As usual, the NT experience doesn't disappoint. It's been a while since I visited, but I remembered how much I like Moseley Old Hall. We were lucky in an excellent guide, who was informative and engaging. The house is fascinating, the history intriguing and the garden a little gem.

“Well worth a visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2014

Highly recommended especially if you like the smaller properties. The link to the story of Charles 2nd provides a very informative and entertaining tour of the House by a knowledgeable guide and is well recommended. Our 9 and 7 year old grandchildren were particularly interested in the hiding hole in the house used by Charles when he was on the run. They also enjoyed following the path through the woods used by Charles when escaping using a map and compass bearings (£1 for the compass). The compact garden had areas for shade on a hot, sunny day. The Tearooom serves sandwiches, cakes and drinks. They often have special activities at weekends and holiday time. Wheelchair access is limited in the house but not elsewhere.

“Extremely interesting”

Small property but excellent guided tour. You can go round on your own, but the guided tour really is a must - an extremely interesting property with a fascinating history.

“Excellent Guided Tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 July 2014

The is a small place with a very interesting past.
The guided tour takes about 80 minutes and is fascinating. The guide managed to keep my attention for the entire tour which is quite unusual.
From the tour I discovered several facts that I was not aware of so I would recommend that you take it. It's price is included in the price of the entrance ticket. Following the tour you can revisit the various rooms at your leisure.
The main historical facts are about Charles II and it is definitely worth a visit.
The gardens are quite small and you can visit them in about 30 minutes.
