Great hotel booked through secret escapes. Food and service excellent our three course evening meal and glass of bubbly that was part of the deal was high quality and we were very well looked after by Jackie. The wine we ordered with the meal was reasonably priced too. The executive room was very clean modern and spacious. The only downside that stopped us rating a five star was the noise outside in the garden coming from a drunken member of a wedding party till after 3in the morning stopped us getting to sleep, you expect some noise from a venue that caters for weddings but the staff should have dealt with level of noise at this time in the early hours. Overall would recommend the hotel and are likely to return.

I went here in april for a pre wedding afternoon tea with a large group of family and friends after reading other reviews regarding the afternoon tea I was a little apprehensive but I was more than impressed, we were upstairs in the Whitwick suite there was more than enough food the selection of sandwiches was excellent and they were very generously filled, lovely selection of teas and cakes and little desserts and the staff couldn't do enough
They kept asking if we needed more hot water/drinks they were very pleasant. I think the price of £17.50 was fair considering the amount of food there was and I honesty don't understand anyone giving a bad review to the mount I would definitely go again.

Booked a couple of rooms here which included an allowance for dinner. First impressions of the hotel, and its grounds were pleasing making this a high quality 3 star in our view. Dining room, overlooking the gardens had been beautifully refurbished and as the sun was still shining we took pre-dinner drinks on the terrace. Given their dominance on the menu, steaks are obviously a speciality here so 3 of our party of 5 ordered steaks. We requested one fillet to be served rare and one fillet to be served medium rare. When all the food arrived, the steaks unfortunately were well done and had to be sent back to the kitchen. This meant that our party of 5 could not eat at the same time and the side dishes ordered for the fillet steaks had to be consumed solo! In fact, 3 of us had finished our meals by the time the two steaks finally arrived albeit cooked perfectly this time in accordance with our requirements, They were really very good too. What a shame the chef could not get such a basic thing with an expensive cut of meat right the first time, however. It rather spoilt the whole dining experience but the waiting staff handled it very well and were kind enough to acknowledge it by discounting our final bill. Red snapper dish would also have been on the dry side had it not been for the cauliflower cheese ordered as an extra. Creme brûlée also overcooked and not the eagerly anticipated melt in the mouth expected. Its texture was wrong. With improved execution from the kitchen, the restaurant has the potential to be a fine dining experience in our opinion. Our rooms overlooked the gardens and were nice and quiet, the beds comfy with quality linen. Shower pressure was fine but temperature control was erratic shooting from almost cold to hot of its own accord. Hairdryer was as good as useless and the whole task of drying one's hair within a reasonable timeframe had to be abandoned altogether:
Breakfast was good but the large room it is served in is sterile and a bit like the communal area of an old people's home.
We found all the staff to be friendly and trying their best.
All things considered, and the fact that we would not have high expectations of a 3 star hotel, this one is fine to stay in and we would probably stay again when in the area.

Thank you for a great stay - reception really helpful, great clean room (bathroom really clean), bed great and the only real drawback was England losing a football game - can't really blame hotel for that. Breakfast was great with good sausages. Might have preferred fried eggs instead of scrambled. Car park needs a little work but that might be my driving!!

The first time i stayed here was in a room out in the courtyard which was fab, except for being woken up by the man snoring next door! Staff are really nice and helpful.
Ate in the dining room and had a lovely steak albeit was under cooked. The alledged triple cooked chips are not- as hard and dry inside. as this menu doesnt seem to change it should be perfect.gi

Company booked me another 2 nights this week and was in a tiny room with wet paint on the door. Spiders and webs everywhere, the mattress needs changing as so used on one side that i fell out of bed.
Breakfast ok except for the scrambled eggs which were awful - one lump and tastless.

Room Tip: refurbishing at the moment so ask for a new room

I am staying at the hotel tonight, in my room at 9.30 on a Saturday night, as there is no residents only area, the hotel has been taken over by children and party guests !! I am not averse to children or party guests but when I am paying to stay somewhere I expect to be able to enjoy the surroundings , the outside terrace in the sun was lovely until evening but trying to find somewhere to sit, never mind being able to get to the bar when we went back inside was unbelievable, we spoke briefly to reception asking if there was a residents area, to be told "they'll be gone in a few minutes", unfortunately for the hotel, my partner and I took a walk and found a lovely friendly pub, when we walked back to the hotel we could hear music from 5 minutes walk away, very loud in the bar area, so came upstairs which is also very loud, we were planning on having a relaxing weekend visiting family at Cosford !! Not so!!
The food we had in the restaurant was lovely as was the service, the breakfast was average, really need tea served to the table in a pot, not stewed !!!
The room we are staying in is a deluxe room which is ok and clean with a comfortable bed, but with no view out of the window due to a tree right outside !!! The bathroom looks good but the shower goes hot and cold and isn't very powerful !!
This is our second night of a two night stay, last night we arrived around 10pm, there was a wedding in full swing with children running in and out and around the bar area.
Hotel has the potential to be good but needs more work on containing parties to enable other guests to also enjoy the hotel !

Dear Kay M,

Firstly thank you for taking the time to complete a review.
I do wish to apologise that you could not find a suitable seating area that evening but as you are aware we did have a large wedding in at the time who where mostly residents.
We do cater for all our guests, but as many guests do they like to take in the scenery and atmosphere of the day and there beautiful surroundings.
I have not had any issues with our showers however i have had the maintenance team look at this area anyway.

I look forward to seeing you return,
