We ended up here by sheer coincidence as me and the wife were nearby. However, it was a very fortunate coincidence as, having eaten here, we will certainly be coming back. The food was excellent: authentic and well flavoured - just the way Indian food should be - and the setting was very pleasant and relaxed. Add to this the prompt and courteous service, and very reasonably priced menu and you have the makings of a great restaurant- possibly one of the best in Wolverhampton. I got the impression that the manager (a very friendly chap) was no stranger to the restaurant scene and so I'm confident that anyone choosing to visit this place will not be disappointed.

“Good Luck!”
Reviewed 26 March 2013

The newly opened Dawat is located in the old Spice Avenue restaurant premises just around the corner from several other reasonable restaurants. Competition is tough and the Dawat is going to have its work cut out.
We visited two weeks ago and first impressions are very good, new, clean and modern but not without a few rough edges incl a gripe from the wife about the ladies loo.
It was quite full on the night, a few large parties had taken over, but the service didn't seem to suffer which was pleasing. There's the usual choice on the menu but with a special offer, even on a Saturday night, you may be tempted to try one of their specials.
Our starters were very good, nothing outstanding or different but very good none the less. This gave us high expectations for the main courses but unfortunately we were both slightly disappointed. Whilst all the accompaniments were excellent the wife's bhuna was quite hot & peppery and my special sag was thin & watery with little, if any taste.
I have say what I experienced but don't let my review put you off, all the other diners seemed happy enough so perhaps our meals were pushed through before the large parties.
You are welcome to take your own alcohol but it looked like they have a bar if needed.
We will be giving it another try!
