“It is Keith who makes the place shine.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 June 2014

We only stayed three nights as a convenient location for meeting up with friends before embarking on a week on a narrowboat. Clean, bright, good breakfast -excellent value. Most of all is Keith's warmth, hospitality and wit......that's what made it special and what we will remember most.

Opted for this hotel from reading reviews from Trip Advisor. Plenty of private parking, lovely rear garden with patio table and chairs. Smashing interior full of memorabilia and original features. Service great, rooms spot on with En suite, tea making facilities, bottled water,TV , clean towels, soap and plenty of hot water.(room 9). There was also a small coldbox,on the landing, stocked with ice cubes.Coffee, tea, sugar and milk replenishment are also in a large dish on the landing if needed.
Breakfast, great choice, yoghurt, juice, cereals, followed by lovely choice of cooked breakfasts. Great service as well. You can even take your own lunch, late meal into the hotel and use their plates and cutlery. Never ever experienced this before and it was so good that this was allowed.Great lounge, relaxing and homely.Manager and staff were top notch. We will visit again when we return to this area. Highly recommend this lovely friendly hotel.

Room Tip: We had room 9,which overlooked garden area. Nice big Windows that we could safely leave open.

I seldom stay at the same place, I like to 'try' different Hotels/B&B's. Having looked around for an alternative, once again I opted for The Barons Court Hotel, since it 'ticks all the boxes' for me.
Lovely Arts & Crafts building with original features, gardens and carpark. Clean, tidy, pleasantly decorated rooms with TV, beverage tray etc., modern en-suites with soap/shower gel, white towels and plenty of hot water! Manager Keith and Staff, very helpful & obliging.
Good location, easy to find, handy for town (taxi under £4.00), ideal spot if 'touring'/visiting local/surrounding attractions.
Superb breakfast/choices, self serve cereals, juices, fruit, yoghurts, jams, pastries etc., hot breakfast cooked to order, plenty of freshly made tea, coffee, toast!
If you fancy a 'Takeaway' in the afternoon/evening, Keith will provide plates & cutlery for you, to eat your meal in the lounge.

Room Tip: If you have any specific requirements, contact Manager Keith prior to your arrival, I'm sure he...

The warm welcome, the ambiance, the knick-knacks, and the obvious history. The suit of armour in the hall was an initial shock! Imaculately clean and considering the number of knick-knacks in public rooms a tribute to the cleaning staff.

A few minus points
Re room 7:-
1/No chain between plug & wash hand basin-I have arthritic hands so could not let the water drain out. Cleaner came with a fork to ease the plug but unfortunately a replacement chain was not supplied whilst I was in residence! 2/ No chain between plug and bath! Chain supplied and fitted on my first day whilst I was out.
3/ Damaged metal shower flexy pipe-not leaking [yet!] as the plastic pipe was still intact. Not replaced whilst I was in residence.
These missing/damaged items should have been noticed during the clean around and rectified. It should not be neccessary for guest to provide a faults list. A stock of spares should always be immediately available.
Sometimes guests [such as I] are even willing to help to fit them!
Perhaps minor things but I operate 5* holiday cottages in Wales so maybe I notice more than the usual guests. What is it with guests, missing plugs, chains and even grill pans? I find I too need to keep a supply as I find they go missing!

My first impression - what a very strange place!
Once settled, would recommend to anybody especially foreign visitors
£3.40 into wolverhampton city centre in a taxi.
The cleanliness overwhelmed me, the manager was extremely helpful.
The breakfast was impeccable, don't bother with the large hotel chains like Travelodge and Premier Inn! Excellent value and learnt today that dogs are welcome!
Thank you very much for a delightful stay!

I booked a two night stay at this hotel having read the positive reviews and was definitely not disappointed. A lovely hotel, full of character, made even better by the warmth of the welcome. The room was great - clean and comfortable with a nice large bathroom. Breakfast was delicious with lots of options available. Excellent value for money with free parking and wifi. The manager, Keith, is friendly and really helpful - I didn't know the area at all and he took the time to find out what my interests were and suggest some local attractions. I would definitely stay here again. Keith - thank you for all your help and for a lovely stay.
