“Great hotel and value for money”

This is a great little hotel. its very smart and value for money. some unpleasant comments on here which i am shocked at as we have never had a bad experience here and had many family meals. Planning on having ruby wedding anniversary party here. punches well above its weight for a small hotel.

Me and my fiance had gone for a Romantic meal as we hadn't been for one in a while, we were warned not too go by both our parents. Once we were in there we were quite happy with the decor and feel of the place. We both ordered starters and a main, the starters were OK honestly could of made better myself. Both had our fingers crossed that the main would be better, once we had received our meal which I had ordered with veg, I realised my veg was ice cold!!!!!

I had told the waiter and made it quite clear this was unacceptable, he took 5 minutes to come and bring me some more, which to shock horror was the same bowl of veg now hot (microwaved), before the waiter given it to me he had said " do you still want this" !!! I replied (no thank you its been microwaved" the reply I got was"I know sorry" and walked off.

So there I was eating just salmon for my tea nothing. Another waitress came over to bring our drinks when I told her about what had jus t happened and that I wasn't impressed, the girl had said I'm very sorry I will go and tell the manager now.

When the waitress came back the only thing she said was the veg wasn't microwaved it was steamed, so as someone that cooks I replied "it doesn't take 5 minutes to steam potato's Broccoli carrots cabbage and peas". Then she walked off.

The table next to us then also had a complaint as hetr steak which she asked for well done was blue!!!! Not nice. Which obviously had put her off, the didn't offer her a new one even though she hasn't touched it and still had to pay!!

By this time nother waitress came over asked if we were OK in a very sarcastic way, we replied not really, the had the audacity to say can you pass me your glass's!!! Ha what a joke!!!

The same waitress came over to give us our bill, she explained she had taken 2.50 off for the veg! I explained to her that inside the menu the main includes either veg spaghetti chips or salad so how does she work that out? She replied because I can walked off and didn't bother with us after that....!!!

Absolute waste of space for a restaurant, I have complained at nandos and Frankys and Benny's inthe past and was treated with respect and was served with top ustomer service and still go to both restasurants , but I tell you what VILLAGIO needs training for customer service and cheffing as McDonalds cook nicer food than that!!!!

We stayed on the 6th December, after being told by a friend that 'There were no decent hotels in central Warrington'; we took a leap of faith, seached Trip Advisor and booked it!
The rooms were excellent for the money we paid. cosy, warm and homely!
The staff could not do enough for us...we arrived too late to eat a full 3 course meal before we had to go out, they arranged that we could have our starter before we went out and the other two courses on our return (10pm)
We also joined in with their party night till late...had a brilliant time.
Recomeded!

this is a nice litte hotel but i feel they are trying to be exclusive when they are obviously not . service on arrival started good but then we were left while the phone was answered 2nd person came to book us in when phone rang again and we were left again. once we got to our room we found that there was a roof leak in room and we were swiftly given another room . just as well as the 1st room was a rather small twin ! breakfast was what you would expect ,full english toast juice fruit. we had and evening meal on one night of our stay and i have to say the starter and main was very good standard the dessert was a bit of a let down and the music playing was definatly not background. all in all i feel this hotel was trying hard to be something its not but with a few tweeks it could be !!

Stayed here for one night on the 9th November. Great location with easy access to motorway. Parking was also a bonus. During check in staff were really friendly and welcoming. However, after getting to our room, my partner went to use the toilet and it wouldn't flush. We were on our way out and informed reception. When we returned they told us that unfortunately they couldn't get the cold water working. They were quick and efficient in sorting this for us and were very apologetic and offered us a choice of staying in that room or gave us 2 other rooms to look at to move to. The rooms were spotless! Nicely decorated. Only downside is that both rooms we went into, all the windows were wide open and the room was freezing cold. At breakfast there was a choice of cereal, yoghurt, toast or a cooked breakfast. We both chose the cooked breakfast which was lovely. The real downside to our, so far positive, time here was when we went to checkout. I placed the room key on the desk as one of the staff had instructed me to, as I was walking away, I was called back to reception as there was an unpaid drinks bill on our room which wasn't ours! I explained we had moved rooms late the night before but the woman just showed me the receipt for the drink. Perhaps there should be a better system for putting drinks onto room bills as this definitely wasn't ours but meant that someone got away with not paying. Overall a very enjoyable stay and would recommend

We stayed here on Saturday 12th October for one night.
To start with there is ample car parking,check in was straight forward, only complaint I would have here is that you have to pay on arrival (gives you the feeling that they don't trust people) we were given room 4 at the front of the building overlooking the main road but not a problem with road noise , this is a 2 star establishment but i would class it at least 3 stars.
The room was fairly large with the usual amenities such as tea /coffee facilities, LCD TV of a decent size,there was a small couch and chair in the room,the bed was clean and very comfortable (we had a good nights sleep),there was central heating in both the room and ensuite bathroom.
The bathroom was very modern with a large walk in shower (no bath)the fittings etc all looked new,only complaint here was the shower head was one of them cylindrical type so no proper sprayhead.
One thing they advertise free Wi-Fi but I could not log on in any area so used my 3g could be a problem if using laptop.
The dinning area was very clean and service was very good.
Dinning is mainly Ala carte but the food was very good as was the service we had a three course priced at £15 each which was good value,it was quiet whilst we where dinning so there was a lot of staff working and they keep everything clean,the only other gripe was that they seem a bit eager to clear your table but not a problem just an observation.it is well located for all the local atractions .
To conclude.. we paid £45 for one night and consider it excellent value and we would not hesitate to return or recomended it.the staff are excellent and very helpful.

Most horrendous experience I have ever had. I stayed for two nights with my husband. We had a meal on our first night which I booked to my room. Nice meal and service at this point. We invited a friend to join us for a meal the second night. After the meal the restaurant manager and booking clerk, in front of our guest, ran over to me and shouted at me to settle my bill there and then. They demanded I paid the night before I checked out, in a manner that suggested I was going to leave without payment, this was a total insult. To be asked by two members of staff in a loud aggressive manner was bad enough but when I had the audacity to complain about the way I was asked in front of my guest, the staff member was very aggressive indeed. I think you need to train your staff in customer service. I was angry, upset and embarrassed at my treatment. All the other establishments I have visited trust their guests. I was offered a half price stay in future but what an empty offer as why would I want to stay there again.

Room Tip: Don't visit unless you enjoy being shouted at.
