“Excellent Value For Money. Great Food and Service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2014

My husband, daughter and I have just left this hotel after staying for two nights and would definitely return. The staff were very professional in all areas of the hotel. The waiting staff in the restaraunt are a credit to the hotel as it was busy at times but they always delivered excellent service, always with a smile! The evening meals and breakfast were delicious and offered variety. We visited the pool on two occasions and my husband visited the gym. Again these were great experiences. We stayed in family room which allowed a small bed to be made for my daughter which she loved. Room was spacious. The only thing that let the room down was a small spot of mould and a loose fixture in the bathroom which could easily be overcome. I will recommend this hotel to friends and family.

Stayed here through one of the voucher deals, what a great bargain. There is a swimming pool, steam room, sauna and jacuzzi that is free to use for guests, room was great, with a comfy bed. Our deal included a meal and a bottle of wine , both were really nice and then due to a delay in our food coming out we got to go the Take That tribute band for free which was also great. Breakfast also included and again was really nice.
Great hotel, great night - recommended

Dear nicky c

Many thanks for chosing the Village for your recent stay and for taking the time to give us your feedback.

We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay with us and our excellent leisure facilities. We're currently investing a further £350,000 into these which make them even better.

I was sorry to learn that you had a small delay at dinner service - not the norm but delighted that you enjoyed one our tribute act.

We look forward to welcoming you back and if you have not already tried our must have upgraded rooms - why not try an UpperDeck for your next visit.

If there is anything we can do to make your next stay even better - do let us know.

V best regards

My partner and I stayed here recently for two nights. We were there for a wedding on the Saturday but had decided that we'd stay on the Friday too and make a weekend of it. We arrived early before check in time but luckily our room was ready. The room was large and modern and we were pleased. The bride and groom had organised a three course meal for the Friday night for who ever was staying. The food was nice and reasonably priced. On the day of the wedding we had a bit of an issue because the lift had broken on the Friday and almost the entire day was down stairs which meant the brides sister, who was recently out of hospital and in a wheel chair, had no way of getting down. Obviously, it was no ones fault that the lift had broken but it meant we had to carry her in her wheel chair, which shook her up a bit. My only negative point is that the drinks are a bit overpriced. In my area a pint of Stella normally costs around 3.10/3.20 here it costs just under 4 but other than that I think everyone had a brilliant time.

Nice hotel with great facilities. I've been in the hotel many time for meetings, lunch, coffee but this is the first time I've stayed in the hotel. The rooms are nice but so dark.... I know that's the colour scheme but it was fairly depressing. Also, there was someone's dirty sock left in the room which wasn't nice.

I am sorry to learn that you found the hotel - just ok. The team work so hard to exceed our guest expectations and always aim to go that extra bit more for our guests.

We have a diligent and attentive housekeeping team so i was very surprised to learn that you found a previous guests sock. I have raised this with my Housekeeping Manager to ensure that this one off does not occur in the future.

We look forward to welcoming you back and if there is anything we can do to make your next visist extra speacial, please let me know.

The hotel is absolutely fine. A bit over prices and the food is distinctly average. But you can get green tea and porridge at breakfast if you ask. The rooms are consistent but no great, that said there is enough room to roll out my Yoga mat and the gym is excellent.

We do look forward to welcoming you back and if there is anything we can do to make your next visit extra special - please let us know.

Received A warm welcome from friendly staff on reception. The room was dark and very masculine with a red and black colour scheme, whoever thought this was a good idea needs their head examining. It made the room dark and slightly depressing. That said it was clean and comfortable and had everything that you need for a short stay. The swimming pool is good, however changing rooms are undergoing refurbishments and family changing rooms could not be located due to poor signage. This resulted in a little girl having to get changed in the male changing toms which was not ideal.

Staff in the pub/restaurant were accommodating and friendly. However, salad arrived with no dressing and when I asked none was available. What kind of chef really thinks it appropriate to send out an undressed salad? Perhaps vinegerette has not yet reached Warrington but the absence of salad cream resulted in a request for mayonnaise, which was offered as the last dribble in a squeezy bottle. On the whole, food was just ok.

Breakfast was good, with a wide selection of items. My main gripe is the fault of the marketing department of this chain of hotels. The hotel tagline of 'live life love life' is naff ness personified! Cringed every time I saw it. That corny little motto is the only thing that would make me think twice about staying again.

Dear lauribeth1979,

Thank you for choosing the Village for your recent stay and for taking the time to write your review.

We were naturally disappointed that you found us just average - we work really hard to ensure that each of our guests has an extra special visit.

Our leisure facilities are receiving a £350,000 investment and there was a very short window whilst we created our temporary changing facilities. Bedrooms were of course made available for our guests with children during this short period.

I’m not too sure why you were not offered vinaigrette - all of our food is freshly prepared by our skilled kitchen crew so you should have been offered your first choice, I'll raise this with the team so as to ensure this was a one off.

I’m sorry that you did not love our marketing campaign, we have an upbeat view in the group and want to give all of our guests a feel good message whilst with us. We have so much to offer - our slogan is based around making the most of everything that we do have to offer.

We do hope we can welcome you back in the near future and please do not hesitate to get in touch personally so we can ensure your next visit is an extra special one.

V best regards

Stayed here for a wedding. Room was fine for what we needed with plenty of towels and hot water. Bed comfy and a lively big TV.
Food at the wedding was outstanding and the breakfast was also very good. We had no queue at breakfast like others have mentioned - maybe we just got lucky!. All staff we encountered were friendly, helpful and very polite.
We used the leisure facilities before we left which we thought were really good and we liked that you were able to use them even after check out.
Overall we were very impressed with our stay and wouldn't hesitate to book an village urban hotel again in the future.

We spend lots of time making sure that our food is fantastic and we are so popoluar as the perfect Wedding Venue. We feel really honoured that we can share someones special day with them.
