“Another excellent 2 days”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 June 2014

I arrived Thursday lunchtime for my umpteenth stay at the Patten (have been staying here for about 15 years). Once again it was another pleasurable experience - the Patten is always clean and welcoming, via the friendly staff. Jack, Lea. James, Lauren, Roy, Jane and the housekeepers. The hotel is an old hotel with the charm of age - warm and friendly; thoroughly recommended.

Have been to Warrington 3 times now, the first 2 places I stayed at gave me no sleep at all. I found this place and decided to read some reviews. They were very positive. I can see why. This place is the best hotel I have stayed in during my visits to this town,
The accommodation is very comfortable and clean. I had a great few nights sleep here which left me relaxed for the following day.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
Although this is right across the road from Bank Quay station, very handy for a lot of people I should imagine, I had the window open all night and I didn't hear any noise whatsoever.
Spent 2 nights one week and am definitely going back.

Stayed at this hotel overnight to go to a nearby concert. Would usually stay at much pricer hotels but the hubby booked so was apprehensive. However, I couldn't recommend it enough. The decor is bit dated but it is clean and the staff were excellent. Very friendly and welcoming. Apparently the breakfast is very good but unfortunately we didn't get up in time. If you are on a tight budget this hotel is a bargain - would definately stay again.

It is fair to say that this hotel has character and is far removed.from.the chains business visitors.so often use. If you want to pay almost double for an anodyne experience feel free to do so. However, the Patten is quaint and of its vintage.

The greeting on arrival was warm and charming, going to great lengths to explain the hotel and how best to use it. My room was clean, comfortable and quiet and the town itself historic, early Victorian buildings contrasting with some more modern architecture. The bar is reminiscent of an old coach house with fireplace and rail, nooks and the odd chesterfield style chair.

There is a feel of going back to a bygone age and it could do with some investment. However, creaky floorboards and a traditional decorative approach only allow this hotel to live and breathe within its own skin. For al its character I would stay here again.

this hotel is cheap & the staff are friendly. Ok so the interior design is a bit old fashioned but that just is part of its charm. The floors do creak a bit but its perfectly positioned near the train station & a short walk from the town centre

This must have been a very grand hotel a hundred years ago. Things have moved on, and now it is at the budget end. It was clean and comfortable and quiet (once I closed the double glazed window). No frayed or threadbare carpets. Pub style bar meals. Breakfast was a bit basic and the staff -- I suspect the owners -- aren't particularly polished (I got called "pal" a lot). But I had a good night's sleep and I didn't pay very much. What's not to like? By the way it's directly opposite Bank Quay railway station.
