Visited this oak with my two grandchildren aged 5 & 8 years of age & was very impressed. The park was obviously part of an estate at one time & has been adapted for public use. It is clean & very well cared for & has two (for differing age groups) adventure playgrounds which were put to good use. Next door is a wild life zoo which has goats, pigs donkeys etc & a variety of birds. Nearby is crazy golf & a canalside & country walks.
By lunchtime the park was very busy & it was time to go ( hottest day of the year).
The park has the usual cafes & ice cream outlets.
I would recommend the park for young families to explore, perhaps on cooler days.
We used to take my grandchildren there regularly years ago before they introduced the expensive car parking. Quite a walk from the car park into the park if you are elderly or have small children. Don't go now very often because £3 for an hour is a expensive. Shame. The greedy council are driving residents and children away.
Very good play area with plenty of equipment for a good range of ages. Lots of space and benches for picnics or visit the cafe in the courtyard for reasonable price. Also a few little gift shops.I wouldn't call the animal area a zoo.more a children's farm but they seem to offer a range of events ie; take the alpacas for a walk or be a keeper for a day.
Car park is large but the pay machines only take cash so come prepared.
Called at Walton Cemetery to leave flowers and decided to have a walk around gardens.
Nice children’s play area but gardens and hall a little tired.
We’d only wanted an hours visit and £3 seems a little extortionate for this.
Wools be worth a days visit and see all attractions.
The only issue here is parking. Download the 'RingGo' app beforehand and it will be straightforward.
Otherwise, you need coins..it's £4 all day, or you can pay by card over the phone but this, and the machines themselves get busy at peak times.
Having said that, this is a great location for family fun day.
Large children's play area covering all areas, modern toilets which are generally kept clean, small zoo with squirrels, birds/peacocks, donkey etc.
Large open spaces for ball games, mini and pitch and putt golf.
little Gem of a place. You pay 4 quid for parking, can can pay by phone but signal is tricky so take cash, but that it’s. Massive park lots of equipment for all ages of children, few little fairground rides, gorgeous grounds to stroll around and a small animals zoo. There’s a gorgeous cafe selling a great range of food, puts national trust cafes to shame, and plenty of really clean toilet facilities around and a couple of ice cream vans.
Brilliant day out for my girls age 2 and 6 would really recommend
