“Simply brilliant!!”
Reviewed 22 July 2014 via mobile

Stayed here for 3 nights because it was the cheapest rooms me and the old man could get outside of Hoylake to travel to the open golf. It may well of been cheap but it was the best premier inn I have ever stayed in.

This was mainly down to the staff who were fantastic and made the place what it is.

Didn't have any problems with the room it was quiet and cool which was a relieve when outside temperatures hit 20c plus during the night.

We didn't use the Toby carvery but there are many different eateries in the centre and in the commercial centres across the road all walkable.

Had one breakfast and this was situated in a nice quaint room where again the staff were brilliant. Quick service and good food meant we could be on our way within 30 mins.

Would recommend and will stay here again.

No aircon in room and did not look like it been cleaned very well and smelt of smoke.

The staff were lovely it just a shame the quality of the hotel let down my stay. They need to update the hotel and get aircon etc.

This hotel is comfortable, but make sure you request a quiet room. One side faces a school, so noisy at break times, and the noise from the adjoining Pub (The Swan) can be heard into the night. There is one car park for both venues, so people leaving the Pub tend to be no respecter of those trying to sleep. Keys let you into the rooms and no large flat screen TVs, I'm afraid! That said, the bed was comfortable and the breakfast at 'The Swan' was most acceptable. Staff were friendly and polite and the Wi-Fi worked, although charging £3.00 per twenty four hours is mean spirited.

Room Tip: Choose a room near Reception and facing reception on the top floor. However, there is no lift.

A friend and I only stayed for a few days but it was an absolutely fantastic stay. The hotel was clean and had lovely staff especially a young man called Ian who made sure we were always alright and was absolutely charming. 10/10 will be returning here :)

We've always had a good experience at Premier Inns, and this one is no exception. There is currently a building site opposite, but we had no noise from it during our stay.
There is a huge and excellent play park a medium walk up the path nearby (past the sports areas) and I would recommend anyone staying with kids to go check it out.

We had one night in room 229 at this hotel, it had all the usual things you would expect from a Premier Inn except - this was the tiniest family room I've ever been in. Once the beds were down there was almost no floor space left in the room at all. I think Premier Inn have a cheek to advertise these as family rooms as they are not fit for this in my opinion. Our luggage had to be left in the car and our buggy had to block the door. On the upside the staff were friendly and sympathetic saying that this used to be a Holiday Inn Express and that's why the rooms are so small - well first off premier Inn should tell people that and secondly I'm in a Holiday Inn Express right now using their free WiFi in a room at least half again as big !! Not impressed !

Room Tip: Rooms are tiny, not suitable for families

Have stayed in many Premier Inns across the UK and usually they are pretty good - this one is not though, mainly as it is basically a Holiday Inn Express which Premier Inn have taken over and changed the colour scheme. If i'd wanted a Holiday Inn Express I'd have stayed in one. As it is we stayed in a very small room (how it can be called family beggars belief), with a small TV screen that was located as far away from the bed as possible. Check the small print too the hotel only has showers. Plus points - nice bed and pretty quiet - but won't be returning.
