“hell hole”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

I'm from the US and have never stayed in such a hell hole in my life. The room and bathroom were never cleaned. First thing I saw when I walked in the bath was a dirty bandaid on the floor. The food is frozen and the evening staff were drinking with the guests. Never seen anything like this in all my years of traveling. It is for families with little kids who just don't care.

Room Tip: Not on the ground level.

This hotel is perfect for families visiting the theme park or splash zone. Hotel is immaculate. Breakfast was lovely. Small park at the back for the kids, and a play room which my daughter loved! Would definitely stay again. Staff were very helpful. We asked for some milk for our daughters bottle in the night, and were given a full carton at no charge. Really nice place.

We stayed at Gullivers hotel in May 2014. We went for a trip with our two children in the school holidays and I do feel it was a little over priced for what it was. The room was clean but there was a couple of small faults for example our door did not close properly, no do not disturb sign to hang on the door, no fridge or air con. I found the room was to hot to sleep & was noisy late in the evening.

Food was disappointing and I found the tables that we ate on were sticky and very unclean. The staff who came round to give us more juice and sweets for our room were very pleasant but reception staff didn't seem to have a clue, with the exception of the female manager only on during the day hours.

We spent a day at gullivers world and found that the food was terrible, especially for the price, but the park staff were friendly and helpful but again tables were not clean.

I stayed over at the Gullivers hotel in warrington with my family, the hotel is fantastic very spacious children loved the tree top bunk beds with the dvd players. The temperature in the room was warm however there was a fan to cool the room down. The room was very clean service was great staff very friendly. Breakfast was great lots to choose from definitely would recommend this hotel to any one. We loved our stay and will be coming back to stay.

Room Tip: We had the family suite which was for the 4 of us it was on the ground floor and we loved it.

We stayed in this hotel last night as part of our 10 year old daughters birthday celebrations... It was so much fun for the whole family :)
We arrived at the hotel around 5pm after being at Gullivers world all day... You could literally throw a stone from Gullivers world & hit the hotel (it's that close)... We explored the room which was a 'princess suite' (gorgeous!)... The room was very clean & comfortable & had everything we needed as a family of 5 (including a 1 year old).

After we had explored the room we went down to the restaurant to sample the carvery... It was basic but it was hot & it was tasty & most important hassle free :)... We all had full tums but not so full that we couldn't enjoy the cookies & milk the hotel provided whilst we watched 'Happy Feet' projected onto a wall in the 'family room'... The hotel also provided things to keep the kids happy (crayons & colouring sheets) whilst the hubby & I enjoyed a beverage of the alcoholic kind from the bar ;).

This morning we enjoyed breakfast at the hotel which was included in the price of our stay... Again it was basic but everything was hot & tasty & the kids helped themselves to toast & yogurts whilst the hubby & I opted for the cooked breakfast :)... We also helped ourselves to unlimited coffee & fruit juices!!

Unfortunately the weather prevented us from using the outdoor play equipment but to be honest we would probably not have had time anyway!... There was an entertainment room for the kiddies too which gives you the opportunity to 'borrow' a playstation from reception... The room also has toys for younger kids & plenty of drawing opportunities for the budding artists!!

So basically what I'm trying to say is we would definitely recommend this hotel to both the young & the young at heart <3... We are looking forward to our next visit already!!!... Thank you to all at The Gullivers Hotel... See you again soon :)

Room Tip: The themed rooms are especially cute... We had a 'princess suite' for our princess but could...

First of all we would like to say a big thank you for leaving us this five star review. We created our themed family suites for children and parents alike to really enjoy a unique and exciting stay at The Gulliver's Hotel. To see that you and your family enjoyed not just the princess room but also the kids facilities on-site is truly fantastic.

We look forward to your next visit.

For example, no basic information booklet in the room, of even the number to call the hotel desk, or that it was not connected to an outside line, therefore we got only busy signals when we tried to call out. Trying to obtain ice was a trial as they keep only a small amount on hand. Hotel staff were amenable and tried to be helpful, but one could see that they had had no training in the hospitality business. Also, having a car is a necessity as it is not close to town and no nearby public transportation is available.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We take all feedback very seriously and will certainly review the points you made in regards to the available information within each room.

We are of course disappointed that you did not enjoy certain aspects of the hotel. We would like to point out that public transport is available nearby. The bus stop just outside the park area goes directly to the town centre in around 7 minutes, we are sorry that you did not receive this information during your visit.

We hope to welcome you back in the future.

Many thanks,

My 80+ year old parents, my brother and I were guests for a week during the RAF Burtonwood Association reunion. Though this facility caters largely to families with children being so close to Gulliver's World, it welcomed and cared for our older group [including two WW II vets] very well.

We had two family rooms since we each needed separate beds. The mattress was too hard for my mother to sleep comfortably, so the staff added several extra layers to the bedding to make for a softer surface. They also provided lemon and honey to mix with hot water when mom developed a sore throat.

The rooms, hallways and lounge/eating area were always clean. Hot water is plentiful, although the tubs drained rather slowly after a shower. WiFi is unlimited and was almost always available. The facility is solidly built so our room was quiet. Even later in the week when families with children were in residence and folks were watching TV in the lounge area, it did not filter through to the bedrooms.

Our meals were included. The breakfast was ample but very much the same each day -- beans, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, various breads to toast, basic cereals, juices and a hot drink dispenser.
