“Great historic building”
Reviewed 30 April 2014

Arguably the gates of the town hall are the finest in the UK...! Pure stunning, the town hall itself is a nice Georgian building brimming with character...parking is possible here but at a charge.

“Just wander past and admire the gates”
Reviewed 17 August 2013

The only reason to visit is to admire the gates which are fantastic. Nothing really to do other than this. The gates are very ornate and I recommend some historical background reading before the visit so you can fully appreciate them- a quick wiki search would surfice. You can park in the street directly opposite the gates after 6 PM for free. That's what we did and then went for tea at the incredibly good value and excellent food at the BlueBell pub in the town centre.
