“Not bad”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 May 2012

I found this place to be quite satisfactory as a base for doing some work in Warrington. As other reviewers have noted, the staff are particularly friendly and helpful. My room was spacious, clean and quiet. Everything worked fine except the TV which had a mind of its own. The pub next door is a mixed blessing. Breakfast was the usual "continental" buffet, nothing wrong but nothing special, just make sure you pre-order at the hotel or the pub won't let you charge it to your room. The pub (The Swan) is not a great place for a drink in the evening due to poor service and less than friendly staff.

I stayed here for one night for a family function. I found the staff very very helpful and pleasant. The room was spotlessly clean and well appointed, and the breakfast, though not self service was very good. An excellent place to stay at the price.

Great staff, constantly checking that you are happy. Smooth check in, lovely clean and warm room. Extra beds provided for both children. Fantastic traditional pub next door, the best breakfast! No childrens play area but children are made to feel extremely welcome.
Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.

We chose this hotel as a cheap and convenient overnight stop close to the motorway - it proved an excellent choice. In the dark, we missed the fork in the road leading to the hotel, despite the fairly clear directions available on the website but after turning around we had no further problems - on the night we stayed there was plenty of parking space available. The receptionist at check-in was friendly and efficient and provided all the necessary information regarding our stay including the restaurant hours at the neighbouriing pub . We had arrived late so did not eat there but from the outside it looked welcoming and I would have expected to find a reasonable meal there from experiences at other Chef & Brewer pubs. The room itself was a clean, a good size with the standard Premier Inn layout and quiet despite overlooking the side of the pub. One empty corner suggested there might usually be a small sofa or table placed there, rather than the menu propped up against the wall. The bed was comfortable and we both slept well.

The bathroom was also clean (other than odd patches where tile grouting could have been cleaner) and the toilet roll holder had seen better days. More importantly, the shower head was clean and water pressure was good. The stairs (no lift on site) and corridors were clean and smelled fresh.

Overall, the hotel was perfect for what we wanted - a fairly quiet location close to the motorway. It would also be worth considering as an option if visiting Manchester without having to pay central Manchester prices. The only downside was the traffic the following morning - avoid the rush hour if you can.

Very convenient location, in a slightly rural location. Very accessible from the M62. Close to shopping, cinema etc. Nice Chef and Brewer pub next door selling good value meals. Friendly staff, nice and quiet area, no problems experienced.

Recommended for all types of traveller.

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 February 2012

I stayed here on the 8th of February the hotel its self was like most other Premier Inns in its lay out and facilities, it was clean and fresh looking. The staff were all very friendly and professional, the only thing that wasn’t perfect was the TV in the room the picture kept breaking up, not sure if it was the TV or just poor reception.
The thing that separated this Premier Inn from the others I have stayed in and I have stayed in most of them over the past ten years was the pub next door, the Swan. The food was excellent not the usual pre prepared microwave stuff, the menu was extensive and reasonably prices

Room Tip: When you check in let the receptionist book you a table in the restaurant as its very popular
