“Happy Bunnies in Hare Tor”
Reviewed 28 July 2014

Spent 5 days last week at this beautiful site. We have been to many Holiday Parks over the years and Langstone Manor is by far the best we have ever visited.
Since our children have flown the nest we still like to go camping on mini breaks to kick back and relax and escape the rat race and we certainly did this last week.
We decided to try the Pods for a different camping experience this time and thoroughly enjoyed this new type of Glamping. The individual Pods are set in a wooded area with their own parking space next to it. They are bright and airy and come equipped with table and chairs, electric sockets, lights and a heater. ( heater not required last week due to the fab weather)
The site itself is spotless clean, never once during our stay did we use the showers/toilets or wash up areas and find them dirty, which is a real credit to the owners at this busy time of year.
You could tell that someone had put a lot of thought and love into the planting of all the shrubs, trees and flowers that were abundant on this site. I especially loved the hunnie suckle arch as you entered the washing area, it smelled lush and when the new plantings around the Pods have matured this will also be a lovely addition.
We used the club house which was homely and welcoming with a good selection of meals and drinks. We could not fault the meal we had and both food and drink were reasonably priced.
There are lots of thoughtful touches that really make this site stand out from rest, like doggie showers, free pastries one morning of your stay, a brilliant supply of games to use in the Manor House, free hair dryer in ladies, even free poo bags in case you need them. I could go on.
All in all a fantastic site with a brilliant location, you are right on the moor but only 3 miles from Tavistock. Thank You so much to the hard working gang at Langstone Manor we look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Room Tip: Try Glamping, you will love it.

Well what a wonderful account of Langstone Manor!! You know how to make us smile when you have noticed all the hard work that has been done to keep Langstone Manor such a great place to stay - the pods just go from strength to strength and we have yet to have anyone that doesn't like them and yes the hedges will look great when they mature. The Langstone Team do work hard to keep it all in order and your review will help to make them proud. Thankyou!

We stayed in one of the wooden glamping pods on site. We stayed for 2 nights with our 2 children who were so excited at the sight of them. On arrival we were shown around the site and walked down to our pod. We loved the free croissants and booked them for the second morning. It is an excellent place to stay for sightseeing around Dartmoor. On the first night we had a meal at the manor house which was lovely and quite reasonably priced. There are some lovely walks on the moor that can be easily reached from the site. On site there is a lovely play area which our children made plenty of use of. The toilets and shower block were so clean and tidy. I would definitely use this site again

just spent a fab 5 days in our touring caravan overlooking the moors in peaceful beautiful countryside.
pitches were kept beautifully as were the modern toilet blocks and other facilities.
a bit tight driving down some lanes but worth it.

We've visited Langstone on a number of occasions staying in both a caravan and a tent (not at the same time of course).
We love this site as its so peaceful, loads of great walks right at the doorstep, the staff are friendly, the facilities are excellent and it's a dog friendly site which was the most important element for us.

Room Tip: Most of the caravans have been upgraded to new 2014 models so if you can get one of them they are ex...

I recently booked one of the family size Glamping pods for a surprise birthday weekend away for my other half, we found the pod really spacious and the facilities were really clean and modern...you could tell the place is well looked after. We also found Peter and Jane very helpful and friendly and they couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable and we were made to feel welcome.

Both myself and my partner would definitely return again for another POD experience and would recommend to others :)

We stayed in a family pod for two nights with our 20 month old son, we all loved it (Henry especially loved the park and the little grey squirrel that visited us one evening!) and definitely will return. All facilities were lovely and clean and staff were friendly and very accommodating. The camping pods were great, they provide outside table and chairs for the decking area which was great for having barbecues in the evening sun. All in all, a great stay!

We stayed in a pod for 3 nights and the site was very well equipped and certainly the cleanest we have ever visited. Pods are a great halfway option if you want the outdoors life but not with a tent. Great showers and laundry area. The staff clearly care a great deal about keeping the site tidy and visitor friendly which enhances your stay. The site is very quiet and perfectly situated for touring the tors! We ate at the bar on the first night and the food was lovely with a good variety and great service. One member of staff was very kind in lending us an OS map for our stay and pointing out some recommended walks.
It was only a shame to leave with bad feeling when we had been told we needed to pay for a large pod because the smaller one was booked, only to find that the small pod remained empty for the length of our stay (we had booked direct several months in advance). Especially from all my years of experience working in this industry I felt the situation could have been handled more pleasantly. Also did not appreciate the blunt service when asking for assistance when our air bed packed up on the last night - may have been 11pm but missed the opportunity to sell us a new bed and a little courtesy the next morning would have gone a long way.

Room Tip: we were told that "bookings are not checked" so always worth a phone call before you go if...

Thanks for your review and positive comments which we always appreciate.
In response to your booking - I dealt with your booking which was done back in January and if there had been a choice I would have offered this - we do only have the one smaller pod and so it would have been possible that the smaller pod was booked at the time you booked - if this was the case then we would not change your booking unless we knew that you had requested the smaller pod. If we had known when you arrived that you wanted the smaller pod we could have changed your booking, a lot of guests do ask for the larger pod as there is only a £5 difference for most of the season.
I am sorry that you had problems with your air bed - our Langstone Team do a great job and I believe they were tucked up in bed which is not by reception and so I hope you were told in a nice way that they were unable to help, I don't think they were aware that you wanted to buy another bed? We do our best to help our guests but there are always going to be times that we don't accomplish this so I am sorry that you went away feeling let down. Hopefully this has not been too disappointing for you and that you may return to Langstone Manor in the future.
