We wanted a 'dog friendly' hotel and stumbled upon The Rockmount through internet searches and booked the self contained 'Garden Room' annexe. We could not have found anywhere better and at £110/night represents good value for money! The annexe suite was very well appointed, comfortable and well thought out - we loved the decor! It was a joy to sit outside on the small private terrace with a drink at the end of a long day's drive from Lincolnshire and listen to the swallows and swifts flying overhead and also an unexpected treat - the Tuesday evening bell ringing practice taking place in the parish church. Our GSD dog Sheba was made very welcome by Tony the proprietor and if ever we travel to this area again, we will definitely try and book this room for our stay. Overall, I would say this is one of the best B&B's we have stayed in and we have no problem in recommending a stay at The Rockmount, you are guaranteed to enjoy it.

Room Tip: If you are traveling with your dog(s), the garden annexe is a must.

There was absolutely nothing to Fault about this place.......the only minor problem for me was that I was actually visiting Plymouth. However, it was so good that when I visit Plymouth again I will not be looking for anywhere closer.

Unfortunately I didnt have breakfast having booked through an online site. I think I actually regret this as I am sure it would have been wonderful.

The host is very helpful, very thoughtful, always there but discreet and courteous. A very nice chep indeed.

The rooms are very nicely decorated and furnished and on the whole no expense has been spared on fittings with a special mention for the bathrooms.

The location is brilliantly convenient and you can park literally within feet of your door.

Forgot to mention the bed was very nicely adorned and very comfortable.

The room cleanliness was superb and of a very high standard. Whilst we were out some poor sole even hung up all of our clothes......wew dint really expect that level of service but hey, what a lovely surprise.

Keep up the good work......its working.

Kindest Regards

Gavin.

Room Tip: Take any one at the Rockmount.

This was our second stay at the Rockmount and once again everything was excellent and the welcome received from Tony was ideal. Tony manages to maintain an efficient B&B whilst keeping the atmosphere relaxed and open. The rooms are very well appointed with everything you could need and are kept very clean and tidy. The decor is modern and very stylish. Breakfast is first rate. I have stayed in hotels all over the world and this is one of the best breakfasts I have had. Eating in your room also adds a cosiness which I liked.
We used the Rockmount as a base for some hill walking in Dartmoor and for this it is ideal being very close to the moors. One evening we had a drink on the decking as the sun was falling in the sky making for a very relaxing end to the day. The location of Rockmount is excellent enabling a very short walk to the restaurants of the town for an evening meal and close to a small COOP for anything vital. I cannot recommend this B&B enough

Room Tip: All the rooms are excellent

Garden apartment- amenities were perfect for us - high standard of facilities - nespresso coffee machine as example. Deco - totally loved. Well thought through - would only suggests if this type of weather persists an extra window next to bedroom area that can be opened. Tony - only wishes to please - an absolute delight! Booking.com needs to be clear on facilities ie continental breakfast and self contained in respect of garden appartment.

We have just enjoyed a 3 night stay at Rockmount, the room was spotless with the best bed we've ever splept in, it was cleaned and tided every day with fresh towels. The superb breakfast was cooked beautifully, tasted great and was served hot in our room. It is only a short walk to Tavistock which is a lovely town with plenty of pubs and restaurants. Tony is great, he is keen for his guests to enjoy their stay and will do what he can to ensure they do. I will definitely recommend this B&B to family and friends and hope to visit again soon. As far as we are concerned there are no negatives!
