“Great stay”
Reviewed 10 March 2014

Booked this B&B on a Thursday and arrived on Friday at 4pm.
What a great find!
Andy and Jane are fantastic hosts and the rooms are perfect.
Great breakfast and a really relaxed feeling to the whole stay.
We will be back in the near future as our two night stay felt like visiting very good friends.
Book this place you wont be disappointed.

We booked last minute for two nights last week. There was a possibility we would arrive a day earlier but we were told no room available. We did arrive a day early and asked at the local Library is there was anywhere they could recommend. We were not told a name but directed to the Apple Tree - just had to knock the door and tell Andy. We were allowed into our room early as we needed to change and immediately we arrived a tray of tea arrived. The room was lovely with extremely comfortable bed and bedding. Nothing seemed too much trouble.

Breakfast with its locally sourced ingredients was a delight. We would have loved to have had more time to stay longer.

When I rang to book for just one night before Christmas I explained to Andy we would have to arrive late and leave early. His warmth and enthusiasm was not dented and he offered us a choice of rooms. We chose the smallest and cheapest as our visit was so brief. In fairness to Andy he did warn us that small really did mean small! In the event, despite the warning, we were a bit taken aback at the tight space with a minute bathroom. It was very cramped, but beautifully furnished with great attention to detail. Andy very willingly got up at the crack of dawn on a Saturday morning to cook our breakfast, which was way beyond the call of duty.

We left feeling we would like to return (choosing a larger room!) in order to experience more of the family hospitality and spend more time there.

We have just come back from a two night stay at Apple Tree B&B and were extremely impressed with both the decor and management. The accommodation has been completed to a very high standard and the breakfast was well presented and tasty. The only downside was the slightly firm bed but to many that would be ideal. Will definitely stay again.

We stayed here in August 2013 for four nights as a family with two children aged 14 and 12. Andy, our host, greeted us with his signature warmth and enthusiasm. He was able to provide useful information about the best sights and eating places in Tavistock and its surrounds. We were made to feel very welcome. Our two rooms upstairs were immaculately presentated and of a good size. The breakfasts downstairs were wonderful and cooked as per our requests. The B n B is located in the quaint town of Tavistock which has an interesting history and is a great place to use as a base to visit the Dartmoors and surrounding areas. I lost my wallet in the town during our stay. Andy suggested that the locals were honest and offered to put out information to help find it. Fortunately, the locals are honest and it was handed in to the local police with cash etc intact.

Apple Tree B&B was recommended to us for a couple of nights way and it could not have been better. It's in a great spot in Tavistock, all the rooms are beautifully done and the welcome was warm and genuine. Eggs fresh from the hens in the garden made for a superb breakfast and the help-yourself flapjack was very tasty and a great touch. Andy, the host, offered great recommendations for eating in town and all the little touches made it a real home from home. The perfect place to stay to explore Tavistock and the surrounding area.
