Great location, great food and good service. Go for a table on the terrace...if possible. Not cheap but worth it!

We booked in advance for one of our favourite eateries in Salcombe. Unfortunately do to the rain, we had to sit indoors. We were given a table near the bar area, which was OK when we arrived. The food was excellent, in fact possibly better than I remember from previous years. I had the Weeping Tiger, followed by a really great curry. I noticed someone who appeared to be the owner, being very busy, and clearly keeping the young waitresses on their toes, you can tell it is well run.
The downside of this bar seating was that it filled up with 12 very noisy guests all having a drink before being seated, I couldn't hear myself think!

We dropped in here for a coffee at just after 11am and also took a look at the menu for lunch. Seeing two tables already reserved we decided to book for lunch at 1230 outside. Best table is on the right at the front. Great views over Salcombe Harbour. Once we placed our order for the food we waited for around 20mins but it was worth it. Not quite as much food as we thought having taken advice from the waitress so we ordered two further fish dishes. We got the impression this place is very good value for money but for fresh fish eaters like us it is quite expensive for what you get (two scallops, one prawn an a small piece of sea bass over £20 sorry forgot the salad). Having said all that it was a very enjoyable lunch.

Went here whilst staying in the area for a birthday celebration. Starters gorgeous, but skimpy for the price. Mains were the opposite, generous but poorly seasoned. Paella over faced by huge bass fillet, strange contrast to the starter, and very small puds. Wine expensive. Wonderful setting and good service, but gave the impression of business rather than pleasure.

Round tables for 4 are a bit small, but the food was delicious, good wine selection (house wines are fine choices as well). Bathrooms are clean. Location is amazing. Heaters on the outdoor patio are also a good touch.
