We have just returned home from a fabulous stay with Vanessa and Phil at the Brambles. My friends have been before, but this was my first visit.

Such a warm and friendly welcome with nothing being too much trouble for Vanessa and Phil. The rooms were clean and comfortable and the breakfast was amazing.

Phil gave us lifts into town and picked us up after a day at the beach (part of the platimum package, Phil tells us) and provided plasters for my blisters.

Such a lovely weekend

I would certainly stay again!!

We stayed 3 nights for my daughter's wedding in the master suite. Tasteful and very clean accommodation, huge comfortable bed (I am tall) wonderful views, fabulous setting, great breakfasts in lovely dining room lots of lovely little touches like chocs, wine and newspapers Nothing was too much trouble. Phil offered us a lift to the church in Salcombe which was much appreciated. Relaxed friendly helpful but not intrusive hosts. We cannot speak highly enough of them. Truly felt like a home from home. Thank you Vanessa and Phil for adding to the wonderful experience of my daughters big day.

I'm sure you won't find better than this.
Located in a very quiet lane with beautiful views from the bedroom window. The bedroom, en-suite and dressing room are all tastefully decorated and very clean. It was a pleasure to return here after lovely days out in the beautiful surroundings.

Vanessa and Phil are perfect hosts - made for the job.

Breakfast was huge and delish - setting us up for the day.

It has all been said in previous reviews.

All we can add is:- Please stay at Brambles - you'll love it.

Vanessa and Phil made us feel so welcome and comfortable that Brambles really is a home from home. I was in the Master Suite which has a HUGE bed; a separate dressing room and an en suite. Everything was beautifully clean with thoughtful extra touches - a bottle of mineral water; tea and coffee making facilities complete with chocolate biscuits; nightly chocolate on the bedside table; notepaper and pen and lots of lovely toiletries. Add to this wonderful views from all windows - not at all overlooked - and it's a recipe for the most relaxing yet revitalising break.

Breakfast was magnificent and Vanessa catered for my dietary needs - dairy free and not too much wheat. She produced the best wheat and gluten free bread I've ever tasted. The sausages and bacon were sourced locally and we could certainly tell so by the taste and texture!

Brambles is set amidst the countryside and there were blackberries growing all along the hedgerow just outside and up the road. It was very quiet at all times and great for sleeping as there were no street lights or rowdiness to disturb us.

We really would have liked to remain longer but work called. We won't be staying anywhere else when we visit Salcombe again, hopefully Spring 2012. Must get booked soon - don't want to miss out!

Room Tip: Both rooms had wonderful views but the Master Suite was obviously bigger

Just returned from a lovely weekend stay with Vanessa and Phil. An incredibly warm welcome to a beautiful B&B setting. Perfect hosts always attentive and friendly but never intrusive. Particularly enjoyed coffee and papers on the sun terrace. Vanessa's breakfasts are extensive and delicious (as was your toast Phil!) Great evening meals out at the Galley and Dick and Wills in Salcombe a bonus. Already planning our return trip! Thanks again

Nothing is too much trouble for Ness and Phil. There was always a breakfast choice of food and time, alwaysa a chocolate at bed time, a new tea tray whenever you wanted it, complimentary wine, weekend newspaer and lifts into town if required. The room was very comfortable and clean. The breakfast hearty and well cooked. There were only positives here.

The first thing to say is ignore the german review titled "Never Pay in Advance" and dated 18th June 2010, the writer has got the wrong "Brambles", apparently. Nessa and Phil Moyle, who own and run the Brambles B&B, near Salcombe are some of the nicest people you could wish to meet and you can trust them with your money and your holiday. They insisted on giving us a complimentary bottle of very nice sauvignon blanc as compensation for a bit of noise made by a builder whilst carrying out an essential repair on one morning of our stay. The setting for the Brambles is one of those deep Devon coombes with great green hills all around. It is a 10 minute walk from pretty little Baston Creek and a twenty minute stroll along the bank of the creek to gorgeous Salcombe. The accommodation is smart, traditional, spotlessly clean, comfortable and very convenient - king size bed, separate dressing room, en suite bathroom. TV is Sony Bravia, with all the usual freeview channels. There is WiFi Broadband and more than enough power sockets for all your travel paraphernalia - I counted 14, but I may have missed some! Nessa's breakfasts are superb - locally produced ingredients expertly prepared and presented and big enough to last you till supper time (well, they did us).
They can't do enough for you, but I'm not going to list all of the little things they did to make our stay so comfortable, in case I set a precedent which they might not want to continue. Sufficient to say that they really did go the extra mile for us. Price is probably upper end for a B&B, but quite right too! That is where they have piched their offering and as far as we were concerned it was worth every penny.
