It has this year (2014) been awarded the Taste of the West Gold Award - awarded for locality of produce used, ambiance and high standards of service. We are the only pub in the South Hams to hold this prestigious award. National finalists In Licensee of the Year, finalists in Devon Life Family Friendly Dining Establishment as well as previous Fish & Chip award finalists. We welcome children with their own menu selection of home cooked food and dogs with their own Al a Bark menu! Bookings to eat with us are advised as we get extremely busy and hate to disappoint customers.

“Fantastic as always!”
Reviewed 21 October 2013

Every time we visit Salcombe, The Victoria Inn is a must!
We ate hear at the start of the week and decided instead of going somewhere different, we'd eat again at the end of the week. As well as going for drinks inbetween.
A good honest pub, with fantastic food and fantastic drinks, and a fantastic atmosphere.
Friendly staff and welcoming landlady.
Try the port!
See you in Jan/Feb! and May :D

Dear emLuca123

Thank you so much for the review - we're all thrilled you enjoy your visits to us! Just a note to tell you that in January 2014 we will be closed for 3 weeks from the 6th January as the Victoria Inn undergoes a fantastic face lift - with the refurbishment of the upstairs dining area to include a great new comfy seating area, wonderful window seating and with better and more inviting entrance to the huge garden!

If you want to read about the progress then check out my blog;

We look forward to welcoming you back next year,

Kindest regards

“Good solid pub fare”
Reviewed 18 October 2013

In with the kids for lunch. Excellent home cooked ham and chips, fish pie a bit watery but fresh and tasted nice. Friendly and homely. An update is coming shortly and the decor needs it but it's a food spot for families and a half ale for lunch.

“Best pub food & service”
Reviewed 15 October 2013

Best pub food and service we've had in the two weeks in England! We happened into The Victoria today while touring the beautiful coastal town of Salcombe. The owner came over to us and helped us find a comfortable table near the fireplace with a roaring fire on an October day, even bringing us more comfortable chairs (we are elderly). As soon as a larger table was free (the pub was quite busy), he quickly moved us to another table, still close to the fire. We had a great meal: pollock wrapped in bacon, with four veggies and new potatoes. and a Devon white wine that was light and dry. The owner checked on us during the meal and chatted afterward, giving us helpful hints about the area. There is a public cark park directly across the street.

Dear AnneS

Thank you so much for having made us YOUR local for the time that you were here - and what a massive coincidence to have some of your customers here the same time as you were!! You obviously share great taste! We hope to be able to reciprocate with a visit to your pub if we are ever in the area.

We all hope you'll come back to us again one day & that you feel rested after your break,

Warmest wishes,
