We visited beautiful salcombe after a bumpy sail from Dartmouth looking for a nice place to eat.
The food was nice, slightly overpriced but could not complain about the food. 2 sirloin steaks, one slightly overlooked but not too bad. Nice staff but that buzzer in the restaurant resembled a game show buzzer.... Slightly off putting but also slightly entertaining!

Four of us ate at the Fort the other week and another great evening we had their.
I choose what i've previously had, because it's so goood! and it didn't disappoint.
Another fantastic meal, enjoyed by all.
Would recommend a visit.

We visited the Fortescue tonight for an early evening meal as a family with small children.

A warm welcome, log fire and efficient service was a good start. Interaction from the staff with our children was warm, natural and easy. The food arrived and was exactly what we expected: home made, good quality, decent portions and reasonably priced. The salmon was especially nice.

This pub and restaurant under its new ownership deserves to do well.

At the far end of the busy town but worth the visit. A pub with history.

Our lunch was excellent and good value.

They serve well kept real ale.

Staff and locals were friendly.

We probably wouldn't have chosen to go to the Fortescue on viewing the Menu Board outside the pub, but went in because the food had been recommended by a friend who has been going there for years. Inside it is a lovely local pub but it was the food that was the biggest surprise. It was very good and well presented. The portions were generous and service friendly and efficient. We all enjoyed the meals we had chosen and will definitely eat there again when we visit Salcombe.
