This place has character in spades!! A nice old property in a reasonable position close to lots of lovely walks. Wonderful owner and staff makes it feel very homely and furniture etc in the main rooms are original. The restaurant could not be faulted and the lounge opening to the gardens were perfect on a summers evening.

Room Tip: room 1 has a seven foot bed and lots of space with a nice en suite.

The fabulous weather we have been having has been a bonus and meant that our guests have been able to enjoy the gardens and grounds at their leisure. I am so glad that you also enjoyed the character of this beautiful old Georgian house as well as our scrumptious food. Thank you

We only had a couple of nights at Glewstone, but we found it totally relaxing and delightful. Not at all pretentious, but with lovely old fashioned large rooms and comfortable furniture, we were very happily accommodated at Glewstone.Dinner was most enjoyable, and the breakfasts were individually cooked and scrumptious. A truly delightful place to stay, very well situated for visiting all the lovely Cotswold towns and villages around. We would love to go back there regularly. Who needs a swimming pool or fitness centre when you have beautiful countryside and great comfort?

If you like "olde worlde" and a few creaky floorboards this is place for you. A very warm and informative welcome. Excellent service throughout and the choice and quality of food was exceptional. We would definitely go again.

Your description of olde world and creaky could apply to us as well as the building! I am so glad you enjoyed the warm welcome, food and your stay here, and hope that we will have the opportunity to offer the same on another occasion. Thank you.

It's an old country house - slightly shabby but very welcoming and homely. We were given tea / coffee on arrival and details explained well. Room was large with views over the cherry orchard across the road and good facilities. Meals (both breakfast and dinner) were superb with much local produce of high standard being used. Staff were friendly and welcoming and proprietor knew and used your Christian name which is unusual but extremely welcoming and makes you feel you're part of the home.

Accepted newspaper vouchers which is a big plus when you're about 4 miles from a shop.

We like to think that our old country house is welcoming and homely and so it has proved again with your visit. Our staff are a great team and once again it is lovely to have them complimented on their skills............as well as Bill's memory in remembering our guests names. Thank you for your review, it is much appreciated by us all.

Old county estate. Not large, but elegant and cosy. We were amazed at the sophistication of the food- as good as we had in any restaurant in England. The proprietor made a point of knowing all the guests by name, and we felt as if we had been invited to a country gentleman's home for the weekend.

Room Tip: All the rooms are pretty much the same

We are touring the area in our motorhome and staying at the hollymount caravan club cl site half a mile down the road from glewstone court. Being a rainy day and arriving wet with 2 young children and a baby in a muddy pram I wasn't sure we'd be welcome. I apprehensively put my head round the door to enquire if they were still serving lunch and was met with a very warm welcome and encouraged to come in, pram and all!!

The food was good, the sloe gin & damson and the salted caramel ice creams have to be the best ice cream I have ever tasted. The waitresses were attentive and the bar and restaurant had a lovely, relaxing, homely feel.....a great way to spend a wet Wednesday afternoon, thank you!!

It was a pleasure to welcome your family on such a miserable day and I am delighted that you enjoyed both our food and atmosphere. We welcome families as you have found and generally find that visiting children are a joy- they especially like the toy box, antique Doll's House on the landing which was made by Bill's grandfather and of course our resident dogs. We hope to welcome you all back soon. Thank you

I have stayed at Glewstone Court on two occasions and it really is a little gem. Its setting is beautiful, the food wonderful and the staff always friendly.

The best way to describe the hotels decor is like staying in a family home, with memorabilia throughout and quirky delights like the children's poetry in the men's toilet. The only down side is the furniture which is very dated. Having said that it does somehow add to the charm and it should not put you off.

We are glad that you find us a little gem and that it feels like staying in a family home- this is our aim and its great that we have succeeded again. The hotel is Georgian in origins and we have tried very hard to ensure the décor and furnishings reflect the building- as you say, the furniture suits the house and adds to its charm. Our latest find is a beautiful Bergere suite in walnut and velvet which suits the hall so well, modern factory made pieces would look out of keeping and I doubt be as comfortable. Thank you
