Third visit to Glewstone and not disappointed. Warm welcome, excellent service, great food and lovely room. Despite COVID precautions still in place and terrible weather we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is beautiful and spotless throughout.

Stayed here this weekend 22nd May catching up with a friend after lockdown. Gary was, kind enough to allow us to leave one car very early Saturday and return later in the evening having been into Hereford shopping for the day. The hotel was very covid friendly and we felt very safe. Stayed in the Keats room which was a twin. Lovely room. Very spacious at the back of the hotel so quiet and nice and warm. Two lovely chairs and a table to sit at. Huge wardrobe. Spacious bathroom the only disappointment was the electric shower. Travellers these days want a power shower. Nice toiletries. The pillows on the bed were like marshmallows I would’ve preferred a much firmer pillow but that’s personal choice. I also felt the mattresses really needed replacing. Mine felt like it was leaning to one side consequently I didn’t have the best nights sleep. The hotel was immaculate. Staff were lovely. We had a dinner b & b meal. The food was fabulous and we had an English local wine. We did wait about 20 minutes after being seated and had to ask to order our wine. Staff should’ve been a little more attentive here given the restaurant was limited in numbers. Friend had the half, lobster sadly she was unable to get the meat from the claw as no implements were provided to do so and there should have been a finger bowl. We felt the tables for 2 in the restaurant were on the small side. We struggled with our wine and water & side dishes. It was a bit of a struggle not to knock anything off! Overall the food was very good and to be recommended. There was fish, meat & veggie options and everything was beautifully presented. It was nice to take our wine into the sitting area for some comfort after dinner as the dining chairs were uncomfortable and very worn to sit on. When we checked in we were told there were specific times for breakfast on the Sunday obviously due to the covid restrictions. We ended up with breakfast at 10 am which was a little late but they managed to get us in 15 minutes early. It was disappointing in a hotel of this quality to find concentrated orange and apple juice. The coffee was awful as well and it was served Luke warm. The grounds were beautiful. We could see the outside space but didn’t venture out it was a tad too cold. I can see this would be an amazing wedding venue there were some lovely places to photographs. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay here. We felt it was worth what we paid. We chose the location as it was half way for us. I might return if I was in the area. Thanks to all the staff.

Due to lockdown restrictions we have been unable to return to Glewstone for a very long time.

Today we had lunch in the most beautiful setting in the courtyard of the hotel in glorious warm sunshine.

Tables were well social distanced with every Covid procedure followed. We felt very safe.

The lunch was quite astonishing with the usual high standards that this hotel does so well. All three courses were beautifully presented. They were, quite simply, delicious. And the service was impeccable.

We have been here so many times and every time we visit we are treated so well and always enjoy food that is of the highest standard.

Glewstone is in a special league of its own.

We stayed at Glewstone Court for two nights. We had an absolutely amazing time. This is a beautiful hotel in an idyllic setting. We had booked one of the smaller rooms through Booking.com but Sam offered us an upgrade for a very small charge and gave us a lovely and comfortable room. Sam was extremely helpful with advice on the area and called us prior to our arrival to book a table for dinner. The restaurant, Cedar Tree, serves exquisite food. We had dinner there on both nights and it was the kind of food that makes you very happy. Kudos to the chef. Breakfast was fresh and we enjoyed that, too. They have undertaken extra efforts to make the hotel COVID secure. I must say that this was exactly the sort of break I was looking for. Thank you to Sam and everyone else at Glewstone Court for making our trip a memorable one.
