We stayed for 2 nights this week and were very impressed by the measures put in place to manage the COVID-19 social distancing and cleanliness.

I rang in advance to book in with our dog as they have 2 dog friendly rooms. On arrival we found that we were ideally situated in the annex, on the ground floor next to a large garden/grassed area, where it was easy to take him out even during the night. The room itself was spacious, clean and comfortable with a small balcony which had a lovely view over the fields and river.

We booked several meals in the hotel and breakfast was included. Because we had our dog with us we were seated in the bar area which we found to be perfect for us and had a very relaxed atmosphere. All of our meals were delicious and we can definitely recommend the afternoon tea.

All of the staff were lovely and friendly, often making a fuss of our pup when they had chance. They went to great lengths to make sure we had everything we needed.

We were able to park in the hotel’s car park and found the location perfect as it is on the edge of the town but within a short walk down to the river.

We thoroughly enjoyed our few days here and hope to return very soon.

Dear Guest. We are so happy that you enjoyed your time with us. Our team love all guests including the four legged kind and it’s great that they were able to make a fuss. I love our afternoon tea too, especially the carrot cake! Looking forward to welcoming you all again soon.

This was our fourth visit to the hotel in the last 12 years and the best so far! The staff were incredibly professional, attentive and all gave the impression that nothing was too much bother. We had a slight issue with a restaurant booking that was solved quickly and with no fuss.
The hotel itself is a lovely well maintained building and our room had superb views over the River Wye. The food was delicious especially the cooked breakfast and the generous 50% off offer on Monday was a bonus!
The way all the staff dealt with social distancing rules was great and the procedures in place were sensible, well thought out and as unobtrusive as possible.
Thanks to the whole team for a great couple of days and we look forward to our next visit.

If in the Wye valley area this a good hotel to stay at. An older hotel full of character with good views over the surrounding area, it offers good food and above all the service is exemplary. Well worth a visit.
