We stayed at a local hotel for a special occasion and ate two others in East and West Yat on the weekend of 16th June. Used the hand ferry and cycled to The Biblins and Monmouth. Walked up to Yat Rock.
All the places we visited treated us with kindness and respect.

We would stay and eat at any one of them when we visit again.

As we were leaving the area we thought that we would check out what the Visiror centre had to offer and the prices for us and maybe our family.

It was with horror that on Monday 25th June we received a parking charge for £100 for the 16 mins it took to have a look round the shop and check prices !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please make sure you check when you go into this place as even if you don't go back and spend the afternoon with grandchildren and other family, it will cost you a lot !!!!

I will NEVER step foot in this place as it was the exact opposite way I was treated by everyone and I do mean everyone the whole time I was in the area.

Just been sent a £100 fine even though the parking ticket was paid for and displayed. We are appealing right now. The parking is independent to the amenities. Beware if you go there.

A great day out with not only the butterflies but also the maze. Yes there is a parking charge (refundable in the butterfly house) and like all car parks if you go over the time you will get fined. So set an alarm on your phone and enjoy your day along with the kids.

Have to agree with other people here that if it wasn't for the parking ticket we received due to an overstay of around 15 minutes (whilst we dealt with a situation with our children needing the loo and getting them and everything else back into the car) then it would have been lovely. Definitely not worth the stress of visiting this place until they sort the parking out or at least allow a grace period - Especially since on their website they clearly refute any liability or ability to assist in such matters - which is utter rubbish since as the Land Owners they can get any ticket cancelled. Not happy, wont be visiting again, and will not be recommending to any friends or family.

We decided to visit Symonds Yat and the Butterfly Garden on Father's Day. We pay £3 to park (but keep your ticket as you can redeem some of the cost back). We then opted to do 3 activities - the butterflies, mini golf and the maze. We paid £23 for a family of 4 for all the activities and we were able to do each several times. The butterfly garden is lovely and the children were lucky enough to have a butterfly land on them. The maze was brilliant fun and the golf too. We will definitely be back. Thank you
