“nice food”
Reviewed 9 June 2014

Party of 8 went for a birthday meal, very friendly staff,3 of us had the chicken, ham, asparagus pie which was fantastic, hugh chucks of chicken and ham, generous with the asparagus, the chips were lovely and scrunchy, 1 had the cod, enormous and looked nice and fresh and flaky, the let down was roast that the others had, i tend to stay clear of roast in an evening, but the roasters werent roasted but deep fried in the fryer, in fact over fried! and the beef was quite tough, shame the others had a not too good meal when the rest of us enjoyed ours. The desserts were very generous and delicious, overall nice atmosphere, good service, the only let down is the roast meals, if they improved on this it would have been enjoyable for the whole party of us

“Excellent Dining Experience”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

Can't recommend highly enough.
Food served all day.
Large portions of fresh home cooked food. The chef is very accommodating and varied my meal from the menu option. The landlady`s son is a great asset and nothing was too much trouble when he waited on us.

“Make sure you are hungry!”
Reviewed 4 June 2014

My husband and I were taken to the Cross Keys by friends who said we would like the restaurant.
They were not wrong! The whole experience was wonderful, from the friendly staff to the gorgeous
food. But make sure you are hungry-the portions are big but scrumptious. From the cod (described correctly as whale size!) to the plaice to the pork loin in a pepper sauce, all were delicious and served piping hot. The only downside for us was that we were too full to try the
delicious looking desserts! Next time, my friends, next time!

“Nice lunch and good service....”
Reviewed 1 June 2014 via mobile

A slightly quaint interior, with good food and warm service makes this pub worth the visit.
There were a couple of other places in the locale but I'm glad I followed the advice from previous reviewers.
My only tiny criticism would be that my partners sandwich was ridiculously thick... I mean her sandwich must have used a third of a loaf! She ended up eating it as an open sandwich and left half the bread.
A young lady who served us was excellent too....it's always a good sign when the place Is busy and this was the case on our visit

If you are in the area... Worth a visit
