“Delightful stay”
Reviewed 24 May 2014

Stayed for two nights on a glorious weekend in May. The weather was superb and the hotel just about managed to match the weather. The food was good at both breakfast and dinner. As the weather was good we walked the river pathway into town and then spent the afternoon in the glorious garden. Rooms were nice with comfy beds and high quality linen. The staff were all really helpful and courteous. You could not find a more beautiful setting... right on the river.

My wife and I stayed at Wilton Court for 3 nights in May to celebrate our silver wedding.
We were very impressed overall with the hotel. The staff were very helpful and the food was very good overall, especially the tasting menu which we had on our last night.
The room was comfortable but for a tall person a little low in places.
The location of the hotel was ideal just down by the river with good parking.
We would like to find another excuse to go back again.

As we approached the hotel I could see the setting was beautiful right on the river, stepping into this beautiful building with all it's original features was warm and inviting, our room was beautiful overlooking the river, staff very friendly and the food was excellent. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

We spent two nights in this hotel, in May. The hotel was immaculate. It really could not have been done better. The hosts and staff were attentive, discrete and caring. The building beautiful in itself and in its position, just on the river Wye. The parking was adjacent and very easy. Road links excellent.
The bedroom (number 7) was gorgeous. A huge bed, blankets and sheets (fantastic!), amazingly comfortable, like sinking into a cloud! Spotlessly clean.
The food was truly excellent. I had the same starter two days running as I loved it so much! The menu was imaginative and food cooked to perfection. Breakfast too was stunning. We ate in the conservatory.
The hostess spoke with all her guests, suggesting places to visit etc. Overall, a wonderful place to go....thank-you for such a lovely time!

Like "perfect" below, we checked out of Room 2 this morning after spending just 1 night there for our anniversary celebration overnight stay. (Secret escapes deal). It is a beautiful room with the view of the river which was lovely as it's a beautiful day today. Our celebration dinner last night was delicious. The staff are SO accommodating and work really hard to ensure you have a great stay. There is absolutely nothing negative to say about this place....so go.....you won't be disappointed. I'd love to go back soon.

We stayed 2 nights in Room 2, a super king room overlooking the river, using a Secret Escapes deal It was perfect from the moment we arrived until we sadly had to leave. Our 2 dogs were welcomed too, which was wonderful. The room was spacious with plenty of wardrobes and cupboards for unpacking. It had a wonderful view over the Wye, and the comfortable huge bed was made up with sheets and blankets, which we like, but there was a duvet if you prefered.
On arrival we were given a tea tray with home made biscuits, delicious, and the evening meals were superb, using mainly local ingredients. Service was excellent, and the wine list varied and not too expensive. Breakfasts too were excellent- they really deserve their AA rosettes. The staff were all helpful and friendly, and efficient.
The building is of ancient mellow stone, covered at the moment with wisteria . The gardens are lovely, and riverside walks start from just outside the front door. It takes about 15 minutes to walk along the Wye to Ross
All in all a perfect spot for a few days in a beautiful part of the world

This was a celebration week-end for a significant anniversary and the Wilton Court lived up to and exceeded our expectations in every way. The riverside location is superb, even in somewhat mixed weather Wilton Court was so charming and welcoming that we felt instantly relaxed after our journey and the tea and homemade biscuits provided on arrival were a treat. Throughout our stay the service was superb and perfectly complimented the excellent food. With a more than adequate menu choice and a good wine list not one course failed to impress us for quality, presentation and quantity. The willingness to try accommodate personal preferences within the dishes on offer and the attitude of the staff and management which was not just "can do" but rather " how much can we do for you" showed just why this hotel has won so many awards and is recommended by some very respected guides. All this at very reasonable prices. We shall certainly be back not least to sample some more of the chef's home made marmalade which is sensational !

Room Tip: We chose a garden view room which was very pleasant but would probably choose a river view next time...
