Stayed for a couple of nights and ate in both nights. The food was excellent but the menu is not extensive, fine for 2 nights but would have been looking for a change if staying longer. The staff were excellent and very friendly with the exception of the chap on reception who was rather cold. Good selection of beers. The room was fine and clean with all facilities but the water system is pumped and it was noisy whenever the tap was turned on, not the thing to run late at night. The building is very old and historical and while the owners have clearly made the effort to maintain standards some of the floors and stairs are very uneven, anyone unsteady on their feet could have problems in some areas. All in all a pleasant place to stay and reasonable value for money.

What a lovely find. Spent a two night special offer break, excellent value. Food very hard to beat for quality, slight delay to get food owing to the fact that every meal cooked to order, but well worth the wait. Staff in all sections of hotel top notch, we felt like part of the family. Room and bathroom very good. Reception could do with a bit of TLC and lounge could be made more comfortable but I may be too picky.

Room Tip: Our room number 6 great.

This is our third time visiting Ross-on-Wye and the third time we have stayed at the Kings Head, each time we come back with more of our family to enjoy the experience with us! Six of us stayed for a long weekend to celebrate two family birthdays. The hotel again was lovely, rooms were large and well kept and the staff were very welcoming. We ate in the restaurant on the first and last evenings, the food and service were excellent. Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend, we will definitely be coming back.

Visited Ross on the Wye with a group of friends on a day out. As it was a Sunday there wasn't much open in the lovely old town. Our older friends were tiring and needed refreshments and a break so we found the above pub/hotel. Great old pub with original features. Great friendly staff and food and drinks menu. Settled for drinks and snacks which was spot on. The roast dinners that were on offer were also tempting but as we had dinners waiting for us at Holmes Lacy we resisted. Would recommend a visit if you are visiting.
