Lovely hotel

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 4 Sept 2022via mobile
Such a lovely little hotel. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Room and bathroom were excellent with tea making facilities, biscuits, a pot of sweets, TV, fan and everything you could need in the bathroom. The food in the restaurant was fantastic - perfectly cooked and presented beautifully. Would highly recommend and stay again. I only wish we could have stayed longer.

Wonderful warm welcome for a solo traveler. Lovely evening on the terrace, refreshing shower, super comfortable bed and the best poached eggs for breakfast! Brilliant value for money too. Would certainly book again.

Spent two nights at the Castle Lodge Hotel and found it to be exceptional value for money. We were given a lovely warm welcome, our room was in the attic and delightful, comfortable bed and everything you would need for a pleasant stay. Breakfast was delicious and the evening meals incredible value for money. All meals were served piping hot and the array of fresh vegetables superb.

The family running the hotel couldn't have been more helpful. They suggested walks in the area and when I left my Airpods in my room, they kindly posted these to me. I really appreciated that they did this, above and beyond my expectations

Partner and I stayed here for a night as we had a winery tour booked nearby. Excellent b&b for the price, the room/bed was very comfy with a great view of Ross-on-Wye and nice ensuite. Just a 15 min walk into the town centre aswell.
Also the staff were really helpful and do a top notch breakfast (one full English and one veggie).
Would definitely stay again.

We had a quiet room at the back of the hotel. The building is 200 years old, I believe, so plenty of character. We enjoy walking and the John Myrtle circular walk along the river Wye was about 5 minutes walk away. There is a short walk to Ross or a very nice circular walk of, maybe 5 miles.

My main memory of the hotel was the outstanding food. Great menu with loads of choices, and beautifully presented. Fantastic portion sizes too. If I am anywhere near Ross that is where I would like to stay. Hosts were friendly and interesting without being intrusive.

Room tip: Back of hotel.
