Enjoyed our 3 night break at the carlton, we were given a nice sea view room on the 1st floor, very nice breakfast that kept us going all day and a very frendly helpfull landlady, a bargain at £60 , parking was a bit tight but there is free parking on the road opposite where we left the car for the 3 days.

Stayed here in July 2012, rated as 3 star, more like 2. Let me clarify this hotel is NOT in Lytham St Annes as the website states it is in St Annes, approxmately 3 miles from Lytham. Landlady was very helpful and welcoming thats about the only positive. Room very basic, beds ROCK HARD! and frosted glass door into the bathroom which had no lock so ZERO privacy! And to add insult to injury someone elses hair was in the shower tray YUK! Our window overlooked a brick wall belonging to the hotel next door. Breakfast was at 9am and that was it so no leisurely lie ins! It was also very basic, slice of toast on plate which was straight as opposed to fried bread, and there was no extra to be had it was very strictly controlled as regards to helpings. The hotel served its purpose for our weekend away but I wouldnt stay again.

Our first time in Lytham St Annes and I was impressed - a nice clean town with good pubs and restaurants. Only stayed for one night, but we found the Carlton Hotel to be good value, clean, quiet and a good breakfast. If you get a room at the front the views across the Promenade to the sea are superb! View from side rooms are a little disappointing though.

We stayed here for a long weekend in June. We found the Hotel spotlessly clean, very quiet, and the staff were very friendly and helpfull. Super view from our seaview room. Well worth paying the extra for.

Room Tip: If you can afford pay the extra for a seaview room.

Asked for lower floor room, even though no one else seemed to be staying, we were given a second floor room, their was a lift though.Probably one of the worst positioned rooms in the hotel.

I stayed here for two nights and the bed was comfortable and the room was really clean. The lady at reception was friendly on arrival but then I never saw her again.
I saw that there was a bar and lounge area but the bar appeared closed all the time. I would have really liked to have relaxed after a long journey with a drink or two but this wasn't offered and didn;t seem very inviting. On the second night after a long day I would have spent money in the bar but again it was closed or at least no-one serving, so I ventured out.
The hotel is quiet, clean and comfortable and certainly value for money. I would have liked a drink !

we stayed at the carlton on the lytham proms weekend all our usual hotels were fully booked ,so we chose here as they still had a sea view room.
the hotel is right on the front with excellent views, theres a small car park at the front but was full when we arrived so we parked in the next street.
we were meet at the small reception desk by the lady owner ,you pay in full when you arrive.
our room was on the second floor, there is a small lift (which is a bit noisy as it was right outside our room). the bedroom was ok and the shower room small, no hairdryer(they are waiting for them to be fitted into the new sockets)
breakfast is in the basement dining room.help yourself to juices and cereal.and the full english is served to you.(breakfast is only served at 9am,so every one arrives at once )
the hotel as a lounge area with sea views, bar area and a games room with pool table.

we didnt use any of the facilities as we were out most of the time.

lytham proms were excellent. status quo friday night and katherine jenkins was on the saturday night.

Room Tip: sea view rooms
