Stayed here for a couple of nights. This is one of several Hotels on the sea front at St Annes which all look fairly similar all advertising similar facilities but I think we chose the wrong one. whilst the rooms at the front are quite pleasant, the rooms in the other parts of the Hotel are pretty ordinary.
One Bar was closed and the other was busy withonly one Barman working so service was poor.
The Food in the Restaurant was of poor quality, the selection was poor and the Food grossly overpriced for what we got.

This is a great hotel. I really think the criticism below is unwarranted. Went with partner and parents - the rooms were spacious and clean. The food in the Atrium restaurant was fantastic, as was the service.

We have been coming to the Dalmeny for years - it's a great place for kids and I loved it as a child and it's the source of so many happy memories. I was very pleased to see the good things hadn't changed, yet the hotel had modernised - the swimming pool and facilities were fantastic and the new restaurant/bar is lovely. Coming as 20/30-somethings with parents in 50s is a very different experience but we still enjoyed it and had a great weekend.

If you don't like children, then maybe it's not the hotel for you - there's lots of kids running round. But that's what makes it great for so many - it's extremely family-friendly yet offers so much for parents too if they want a break from the little ones. As a child-free group, we enjoyed every minute of it still.

Seriously, if all people can find to complain about is a bit of tape on the carpet, it just shows. I'd heard about these "mixed reviews" before I went and I was dreading the weekend being a disaster but it was so far from the truth.

Brilliant for young families, warm, friendly staff, lovely pool and leisure facilities, great entertainment and fantastic food - what more can you want? It's always been this good and I am very happy to say the standards have been maintained and excelled over the years.

My family and I (2 adults 2 children) stayed on the 3rd floor with a sea-view which was a bit of a disappointment concidering the price. The room itself was a bit dated with wall paper peeling in places and stains on the carpet but it was clean. I must mention Christine, a young lady whom looked after all the family for the duration of our stay. We asked for extra pillows, extra towels, extra tea/coffee and biscuits and nothing was too much trouble! The poolside lounge was a lovely place to relax whilst the children were in the pool-those sofa's were so comfy! The food was brilliant although we didnt get chance to try the Atrium but we spoke to other guests who had eaten there and they all highly recommended it!

This hotel was very average. The decor and furniture is extremely worn. The changing rooms in the leisure faciltiies definaitley need an update. They were like that ttwenty five years ago. The food was ok not much choice and the potatoes were hard both days. Spent it for my sister birthday and mothers dayywith all the family you were eaither freezing cold or stuffy and the bar prices were dear. I have staye at other hotels in annes and for the price I would not recommend this one out of them all. On the whole we had a pleasant stay but was not worth the money.

We went for a post-Christmas weekend break with another family of 4. This is the 2nd time we have been at this time of year - and we literally look for somewhere to relax whilst the kids can run around in safety, this year we didnt even leave the hotel. Family room was massive, plenty of space. Breakfast excellent choice.
Pool cafe bar - good for toasties and drinks
Atrium Restaurant - adequate choice - food very good (pasta was excellent)
Kids menu limited to the usual (nuggets/pasta/burger/fish fingers) but better standard than similar hotels
Pool facilities - excellent
Kids club (nominal fee) very secure and worthwhilse for a few hours
Evening entertainment cheesy and focussed on kids - but again relaing.

Finally the entire staff was accomodating and servie focussed. I arrived before the rest of my party, after a long drive. I happened to mention whilst chekcing in that I was dying for a coffee - before I finished checking in I was presented with a large latte in a comfy chair - fantastic.
Absoutely ideal for families and extended families looking for a meeting place with good value.

We stayed for one night at the Dalmeny after spending a day on Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Our room was huge (more like 2 rooms which had been knocked through) and the children both had proper beds rather than a sofa bed. However, as is often the case with a family room we were situated on the lower ground floor with no view. The upside of this is that we didn't have to worry about disturbing anyone - the downside was that lots of people (mainly children) disturbed us! We were all in bed by 10.30 but there were still children running about and screaming after 11 pm. With hindsight, we should have let Reception know at the time - they were very apologetic but it wasn't their fault - not sure where the parents were? My parents stayed in the same hotel and their room was really quiet with a sea view.

The leisure club is very nice and the kids enjoyed the pool. You can leave the hotel and be on the beach or in the town in minutes so its location is great.

As we arrived late we ate in the hotel. The only option was the 3 course carvery - nice but pricey at £17 as we really only wanted a snack. Again next time we'd arrive earlier to give ourselves more options.

Staff were very friendly and helpful.

All in all, I would say this is a good place to stay with some nice facilities. Next time we'd ask for a quiet room and organise where we want to eat a bit earlier.
