St Anne's Pier is just amazing, Yes its dated but it adds to the charm, a reminder of a bygone era. The pier is currently undergoing some redevelopment so some areas are looking a bit tired. The arcade was second to none, given that we left blackpool to come here, that says a lot! There were some cars, bit like dodgems for smaller kids £1 a go and my daughter loved it!
At the end of the arcade is a little cafe which looked amazing, lots of cakes on show. The right at the end of the pier is crazy golf. It looked handmade which made it fit into the setting of the pier just nicely.
There is a chippy at the front of the pier, chips were £1.60 for a large portion, and they were nice. Then theres a gift shop selling beach stuff, kites, loom bands etc. Reasonably priced too. Then there is the ice cream parlour, again reasonably priced.
To the right of the pier is miles and miles of flat golden sand and sand dunes. To the left is a hut to hire beach chairs, windbreaks and deck chairs. And further onto the beach there is a bouncy slide and an inflatable play area, then a bit further afield there are donkeys. All well kept and looking happy.
Back on the promenade there is a free outdoor pool, the water was freezing but my daughter loved it.
There are toilets nearby, some on the promenade by the pool, 20p fee, and also some on the pier, again 20p fee. There is a disable loo in the pier arcade. Car parking is £5.50 all day in the pier carpark.
Lovely place...we will be back!
