“A friendly place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2014

Stayed for 2 nights on a Groupon deal. No complaints whatsoever. Every member of staff we encountered was very helpful, and always smiling. Seems like a very happy team.
Our room 204 was very quiet, we didn't hear any other guests. Plenty of drawers and lots hangers in the wardrobes.
One tip for future visitors (not that it affected me, as I always take my own) but there is no shampoo or shower toiletries, only soap is supplied.
Saw plenty of choice on the breakfast front, but we only had the full english which was very tasty.
I would definitely stay here again, and would recommend Langdales to anyone coming to St Annes/Lytham,Blackpool.

Where to start. The hotel is very clean and the room we had was wonderful over looking the park. Staff made us feel very welcome and were happy to do anything for us nothing was too much trouble. Entertainment Saturday night was brilliant and the bar was reasonably priced and only a stones throw away from the centre of st Anne's no cars needed. The only thing I regret is not staying an extra day so I could use the swimming pool but next year we will stay the extra day and use the pool can't wait till next year!

This will be an honest and fair review, as seen by myself and my friend who accompanied me ...................
I booked a one night stay at this hotel by Groupon costing £59 for the two of us b&b. When I rang up the hotel and asked to book and gave him a couple of dates the guy on reception said that that those where not convenient to him but did not give a reason why? I asked him when was ok near to those dates and he gave me a date which was acceptable. I asked him was there any entertainment on in the hotel that night as my friend and I like live entertainment, singing, comedy etc. The guy said yes there was a live singer on that evening which was great for us.

Upon arriving at the hotel at 2pm we were told our room was not ready so we had a wander around the town and went back later. We were given a key but was told that there was no room number on the door as that room had been used for physiotherapy previously. We wandered around these passages and noticed that we were in the old part of the building and eventually thought we had found it. The key would not fit so we had to go back to reception where the guy showed us the right room. The room was right on the back overlooking someones washing line full of washing. It was very clean but very outdated. It was basic with twin beds, a dressing table and two bedside cabinets. There was a door with a sign saying Bathroom but really it was a room with a shower, toilet and wash hand basin in. On the plus side the 'bathroom' was exceptionally clean, there was tea/coffee making facilities, a tv and hairdryer.

We ventured down to the pool and jacuzzi. The pool was a little on the small side but very warm and the jacuzzi and steam room were nice too.

We then asked at reception what time the singer was on only to be told that the entertainment was 'Bingo' and no singer. Obviously we were very disappointed as we had been told upon booking that there would be.

The breakfast in the morning was good with cereal, fruit and a variety of cooked items.

To sum this hotel up I would say that it is very much an older persons hotel, who would probably like bingo, as nearly everybody were in their 70's when we were there. It is clean but very tired and outdated and very much needs a revamp and getting 'up to date'.

I would say that no I would not visit this hotel again as not for us as we prefer something more modern and not for OAP's. It seems to me that if you book with a voucher from Groupon or similar they do put you in the very basic of rooms and rooms which are the worst ones.

Room Tip: Upon booking ask for a bedroom NOT in the old part of the building.

The hotel is really clean and nicely decorated, and the staff are so friendly and accommodating. We had a lovely spacious suite overlooking Ashton Gardens, the hotel is really quite central so it is so handy for anything you plan to do. The food is homemade, piping hot and very good, enjoyed everything I ate. Would highly recommend this hotel top notch on everything, enjoyed it so much we will be staying longer next time . We never got around to using the pool and other facilities as we didn't have time, but they looked very good and we will make time next time.

Room Tip: ask for a room at the front of the hotel, lovely views plus nice and sunny when out

Was looking online for a hotel with leisure facilities reasonably priced for a couple of days holiday in St Anne's. The Langdales was more than we could have ever hoped for. We had a room overlooking the park and despite being on the main road noise was not a problem. The room was clean and well decorated if a little chintzy with floral wallpaper. We had two single beds which could be pushed together to make a large double. Adequate wardrobe and drawer space was provided and when we asked for an iron and a board we were given them without difficulty. Only slight negative was lack of modern TV with free view. I feel this is a minimum standard for hotels these days.

We did not have dinner so cannot comment, but breakfast was well presented and when I asked for French toast which was not actually on the menu this was provided with no fuss or bother. Cereals and juice were self service but the cooked food was done to order so it was fresh and hot. Toast was served in a rack thus keeping it nice and crispy. Tea and coffee were in pots which again kept it warm.

Wifi was provided in public areas and we used this regularly.

All staff encountered were not only smiling but made you feel like you were visiting their home not just a hotel.

Free pool and leisure facilities were excellent with towels provided free of charge too. Good private shower and changing facilities. Could do with secure lockers as the lockers cannot be locked unless you use a padlock and key which you need to bring with you.

Public areas were all clean and tidy and there was a bar. There was entertainment on the Saturday night. As the England World Cup match was on late, breakfast was put forward an hour the next day which was appreciated.

We noticed a few guests had pet dogs with them so it is pet friendly too.

This was our first visit to The Langdales but it won't be the last. So good to find a nice friendly family run hotel at the British seaside is alive and well in 2014. Long May you continue.

Room Tip: Stayed in a room on first floor overlooking park and main road but no problem with noise

Dear MUFC3499,

Thank you so much for all your wonderful comments, we are bursting with pride.
Everything you have said is what we set out to achieve as a family owned & run Hotel, we agree that some of the T.V's need updating and we are doing so as we redecorate each room
(We are hoping for 4 more rooms to finished by the 1st August 2014, with newer and bigger T.V's).

Thank you once again MUFC3499,

P.S Therapy treatments will be available with Skin & Tonic (Serenity) from July 2014
