“very tired looking hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2012

as two couples we stayed at this hotel at the end of july, 1st impressions were good the decor of the hotel is very tired and tatty with paint peeling off ceiling wallpaper hanging off, it could be a really nice hotel apart from all the plastic flowers everywhere, the guests are elderly the breakfast was ok just ok nothing sparkling, really basic, the room we had looked out onto an alleyway full of rubbish, not nice,

Room Tip: choose another hotel the bedford next door looks great

when we arrive ,we were a little taken back by things we saw ,thoughtt it was more like a old folks home.the decor looked old fashioned ,and mobile scooters in the entrance.,but it was very clean ,had a lovely swinning pool and gyn.the breakfast was good, although certain things missing and had to keep asking for them.its the most friendly place we have stayed in.the bedrooms were very large, and huge bathroom, shower was a bit slow.overall we had a really lovely stay, very relaxing.iam 62 but like alittle entertainment at night, but we got talking to other guests and the evening passed quickly, the worthigtons bitter was fantasic.

My husband and i often stay here and have booked it for family and friends too. The staff are very friendly and helpful and go out of their way to ensure you have what you need e.g. rooms accessible by lift, with walk in showers etc, that the bar stocks your favourite tipple. The food is great and the facillities such as the massage chairs ( my favourite but not for the faint hearted) swimming and spa pools and supply of jigsaws ensure a relaxing time is had by all. The hotel is someone old fashioned but that is its charm for me. Many guests return time after time and it is nice to meet up with familiar faces.

Room Tip: Let the receptionist know all your needs when booking and they will try to accomodate you

read some iffy reports on here so was a little worried before i arrived .
on entering the hotel did look quite old fashioned but the staff seemed really nice and friendly . the car park is the one thing that stops it getting the perfect report ,it is far too small for the hotel when it is full as it was on my visit.
i went as a whist holiday and that part of the holiday could not be faulted . the food was top notch the service was efficient and very friendly
some of the wall papers in the corridors were a bit worn which would benifit from replacing but hey it did not stop my enjoyment of the holiday ..
in fact i was so impressed while i was there i booked for 2 more whist holidays -so i must have been pleased.
i struggle with stairs and the reception lady lynette deserves much praise for her patience in trying to find the right room for my next visits.

This is a hotel for the older visitor and definately not one for younger people. The staff are extremely rude, especially the manager who seemed to go out of his way to horrible. Would most definately not advise anyone to stay here!!!!

Room Tip: Go somewhere else!

Just back from a five day stay at this Hotel and can honestly say that it was well worth the money. The hotel is well appointed and within easy walking distance of Lytham St Annes shops and beach. The staff were all very cheerful and helpful. The Chef deserves a big pat on the back for the fantastic menu offered. Very good quality food and well cooked and served. Entertainment was good and bar prices reasonable. The only downside was the bedroom was too warm, however with Winter around the corner don't think this will be a problem.

I paid £40 for one night here for a leisure break. The hotel is a short taxi drive from Lytham centre where the nightlife is.
Parking is cramped and I had to park the road at the back. Inside the hotel is dated in design bug the furnishings all match and it is cost inside.
The bedroom I had was small and toilet/shower room was cramped but functional.
Breakfast was perfectly acceptable.
Overall for a one night value stay, this was spot on. Checkout could be a little later though.
I didn't use the gym, but this looked like a very useful addition.
