“Not Long Enough”
Reviewed 24 November 2013 via mobile

Stayed one night as we were joining friends at a retirement party nearby in Lytham and felt cheated not to have more time on our side to enjoy all the lovely surroundings, facilities of The Grand. Staff all very helpful and attentive and personal thanks to the General Manager who helped us with our booking and whose staff are a credit to him.

Booked again for April, highly recommend this hotel, clean, super rooms, great bar and dining and breakfast continental with bacon and egg, ticked all our boxes. Thank you.

Our recent visit to the Grand Hotel was a model of excellent customer service. Special mentions for (1) Tom who wanted to make sure we made it to dinner and rang to check we were ok; (2) the member of staff who personally sorted some laundry we needed urgently; (3) the night porter who told us to just ring and let them know if we would need a late breakfast. The room was lovely and the decor a very successful blend of the modern and the historic. And I still haven't mentioned an excellent and imaginative wine list, superb puddings, the best scrambled eggs (one of the easiest dishes to spoil and a mark of a good kitchen) and pretty good mains. A couple of small niggles - we asked for a particular table for dinner and it could not be guaranteed and indeed others were sitting there - we had a long wait for the wine order to be taken and the tablet order taking was slow and mistakes were made.

Dear PAH2008

Thank you for your recent visit and taking time to post a review, it is much appreciated.

It’s nice to hear we delivered on customer service, especially the points you have mentioned.
It’s that extra effort that makes the difference and its very much appreciated when noticed, thank you.

Cafe Grand is an all day restaurant open from 12 noon until 9.30pm for food, we will always endeavor to meet guest requirements but unfortunately this is not always possible, sorry!
A note to future guests, Cafe Grand tables are available to book online on the hotels main website.
SO why you book your room why not book your table, there is no cost to do this and as a resident you will always be guaranteed a table in the Fylde's top eatery!

Kind regards

We stayed here for one night on the 16th November travelling with girls aged 4 & 7 we stayed in room 4. We found all staff very helpful leisure facilities were great. Hotel immaculate throughout. Our room was well appointed and plenty of space. A coffee machine is provided however take your own teabags if you prefer tea as they are not provided. A continental breakfast is served on Sunday morning which you can have bacon & scrambled eggs if you wish and very good it was too. We will definitely go back.

Dear Herbs61

It’s good to hear you had a great night away with your family.

Next time you book do a search for two nights, all 2014 two nights are better value than one, especially when booked in advance.
Thank you for your review and we hope to see you again next year!

It's all been said before so I will just confirm that this has got to be one of the best hotels we have stayed at in this country. Perfect room (117), very attractive bar and eating areas, Staff very friendly and professional. Prices very reasonable. And the surprise scrambled egg and bacon added to the buffet breakfast was a delight. We will be going back.

Room Tip: Room 117 is quiet with floor to ceiling windows, two sofas and a bath and glass enclosed shower. Won...

Just returned from a fantastic weekend break at the Grand.
From the moment we walked in we were greeted so warmly by the staff, which just continued though-out our stay... We were only booked in for one night, but after relaxing in the Spa and having few fantastic cocktails we soon booked an extra night.
Our room was perfect in every way, from the beautiful decor to the small touches, fluffy towels & slippers & Molton Brown toiletries.
We chose to eat in the hotel & compliments to the Chef's our food was absolutely beautiful... and the service was perfect!! Nothing was too much trouble... In-fact it was so good we eat there again on our second evening!!! fantastic.
I don't normally write reviews.. but I just had to find the time to say, If your thinking of staying here you wont regret it... whoops before i go just got to mention the Breakfast! wow so much choice you cant go wrong
Thank You everyone at the Grand for making our weekend so relaxing we will be coming back very soon. x

Just back from a 3 day visit, to the Grand Hotel at St Annes, on a much needed break. We found this hotel last minute on trip adviser - the reviews seemed so good- we took a chance and booked it and I'm just so very glad we did! This Hotel is as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside. Rooms are individually styled, they're, elegant and just pure luxury. We stayed in the Fabulous Room 110 with yes, just as described, a huge bed, with lovely crisp white cotton sheets, gorgeous floor to ceiling windows spanning half the room and very beautiful, richly themed, ornate drapes. The sea view was so close and wonderful it was hard not to just want to lounge in your room, in the oh-so- comfy seating area in front of the windows with its little leather armchairs, spread your newspapers on the coffee table and sample the speciality coffees and biscuits although tea would be much appreciated? So we made it our daily ritual to sit and watch the view of the high tide as the sea came in at midday , just spectacular! Our rooms had a free standing bath, a lovely floor pebbled walk in power shower, a 2nd tv that at first glance looked like a mirror on the wall and a beautiful bathroom with all Molten Brown complimentary products. We had an iron and board in the wardrobe, hair dryer in the dressing room, mineral water, cola and handmade crisps all provided in your room. We ate each day in the Hotel's Cafe Grand; continental breakfast yes but with bacon and scrambled eggs cooked to order by Chef and brought to your table! yummy too! Evenings we sampled Sea Bream, duck, lamb , all delicious, and just as stated on the menu, ah banana sticky toffee pudding!!! Penny Lane wine- Hawkshead beer, what more could you want? So many staff, all so friendly and chatty. Managers who really care about their guests experience, special thanks to Brian. The lovely Hannah and Jenny on reception and a special mention for the lovely waitress from Poland Isabella? And Liz? and the guy on reception, brill sense of humour ooh and The guy who had only been 3 weeks in Cafe Grand -Martin? you were all such a great team, customer service seemed paramount to you all! so thank you for our fab stay at The Grand. I so wish the owner could let each of you have a sleepover with partners at the Grand or Grand 22 though just so you could experience all that we as guests have, as I don't believe any of you have actually ever stayed!! You would love it ! J and L

Dear Guestsroving

Firstly, a big thank you to all trip advisor reviewers for the previous excellent reviews that have persuaded these guests to stay at The Grand.

J & L, from your review it obvious you have had a fabulous time during your visit.
I would like to thank you for highlighting individual members of the team, they all read trip advisor and will be delighted with your comments.
We were going to allow a large selection of the team to stay in Grand 22 before it opened, however building works ran behind and we were in a push to open on time.
What we are doing is running staff competitions for various incentives on of which is that the winner will get to use Grand 22 with their partners.
Maybe the person with the most good comments on trip advisor will be a competition so keep the reviews coming.

Kind regards

Stayed with my two young daughters and my mummy in a family room. Had a brilliant time. Staff very welcoming. Some confusion about my booking but very quickly resolved.

Sofabed wasnt made up for the children but again very quickly resolved. Our room was very impressive and very accomodating and superb facilities in the room and hotel

Robes and slippers promised in a room description but not there.:( x

Breakfast again fab but some confusion about ordering hot food and you had to ask the chef yourself and bring it to my table. Lucky ther chef helped me carry as I ordered for my mummy as well, which i felt which i bet of a let down as i had enjoyed such good service during my stay.

All in all well worth it and a brilliant location.
