“Little Gem of a Hotel”

Arrived at Mode Hotel after having arrived at another hotel and found they didn't have my booking and they were full. Not what you want to hear after a 4 hour drive. Was tired and very bad tempered but the lovely woman of reception, was so helpful, found me a room and suggested I go and get settled then come down where she would have a Gin and Tonic waiting for me. You can't get better service than that.

The hotel is boutique style, smart and clean. All the guests were very friendly and I suspect regulars which is not surprising given the quality of this hotel.

Dear KJScotland,

I am delighted to read the feedback you left about Mode here on TripAdvisor. My attentive staff are thrilled to be mentioned. I am very happy they helped you to relax after the day you have had. You are right, we do get many regular customers and with our Loyalty Scheme we feel like we are giving something back for their commitment. I hope to see you again in not too distant future.

This is a nice quiet hotel nothing going on if you want entertainment, honesty bar too expensive to use,,ie £1.90 for a very small bottle lemonade, breakfast very boring same cold meat and cheese every day. On the plus side the staff are excellent and go the extra mile for you, everything is very clean, price per night a little steep..Go to St annes for a restfull holiday and lots of good .eating places. Enjoyed our stay but would have to get a good deal to return, Thank you ladies on reception for being so pleasant,

Room Tip: I would not aadvise room 13 & 14 very small balcony with brick front so had to stand up to see a...

Dear MARGARET D,

Thank you for the time to write the feedback about your recent stay at Mode. Our staff its Mode’s greatest pride, thank you for mentioning their hard work as well as cleanliness within the hotel. As the bar operates honesty bar policy we cannot offer i.e. draft lemonades, otherwise the price would have been cheaper. We select high quality products that are displayed on the buffet for our Visit England Award Winning Breakfast and although, I understand you could have got bored with the same items each morning, we are committed to all of our residents and we strive to ensure everyone has been served with the same good quality items, i.e. smoked salmon, cream cheese and chives, each and every day.
We do offer special deals each month and would be more than happy to make you one if you would decide to come back. Once again thank you for your time and I hope to see you in the future.

Best Regards,
Anna

The Mode is a relatively modern hotel with large comfortable rooms and is good value for money. The staff are very good, and breakfast is OK but the breakfast room could be brightened up and given a better atmosphere. Perfectly OK for one or two night's stay whilst seeing relatives. Would stay there again and would recommend it.

Dear Glyn12,

Thank you for taking the time and reviewing our hotel on TripAdvisor. I am pleased to know you found Mode as a good value for money. Comments about the staff are greatly appreciated too. We have a music background in the dining room while serving the breakfast and we aim for the modern decór within the building. We considered changing the colours in the dining room, although we decided to keep the same shades as we do not want to loose the cosiness of the room. I would love to see you at Mode again.

Best Regards,
Anna

The staff at Mode are incredibly lovely and friendly. We were welcomed very warmly and given some brilliant recommendations for restaurants. We were late down to breakfast on our first morning, but they still helped us to coffee and tea and kept the breakfast room open a bit longer for us - all with a smile. The room we stayed in was very clean and neat with all the things we wanted (kettle, hair dryer, TV, etc) as well as a little balcony looking out at the seafront. The main streets with shops and restaurants are only five mins away and the beach and pier is about two minutes. We stayed three nights, midweek and would definitely go back.

Room Tip: We had Room 2 on the 1st floor which was small, but did have a little balcony and a sea view.

Dear EmmaHea,

I am very pleased you have been served with the breakfast after its time. We would not want you to miss out on our delicious Visit England Breakfast Award winning breakfast. Staff are thrilled to be mentioned too. We do not provide evening meals, as an alternative we offer some discounts to the local restaurants. As you mentioned, they are located within a few minutes walking distance which is a big plus, I believe. Also, I am happy to know that the room met your standards and you had a sea view which contributed to the overall experience at Mode. I cannot wait to welcome you at Mode again, hopefully in not too distant future.

Best Regards,
Anna

This hotel was very welcoming and accommodating right from the minute we booked the hotel over the phone to when we stepped in and the checked out.

I felt it was very family orientated and the receptionist made every effort to make sure we were comfortable because we arrived too early and the room wasn't ready. But there was no rush as we decided to go out and have lunch first.

Its a modern hotel and our rooms were spacious and very clean. We had a lovely view (room 11) overlooking the sea. There was a small balcony with chair and table but we spent much of the day outdoors.
There was plenty of tea/coffee available which i don't have but the hot chocolate sachet was bonus.

Our son is sensitive towards certain noise so i was extremely pleased to see the air con in the bathroom had a switch so you didn't need to use it, especially if you have young children who maybe sleeping and are awoken with the whirling noise middle of the night. I was not expecting this, but was a relief for us nonetheless (might be pointless for many but a big issue for us).

The bed was very big and very comfortable - so we slept well.

From reading the other reviews we realised the car park might bean issue so we arrived early and was the only car in the car park. Having said that, there are plenty of car parking on the road or in the public car park opposite.

Plenty of choice at the breakfast bar. And i like the concept of the loyalty card. I hope to come back again and will certainly stay at Mode.

We met three of the staff and every single one of the ladies were very warm, pleasant and polite.

With the hotel and staff our short trip to the north was lovely. The bonus warm sunny weather made it fabulous break just what we needed.

The information book in the room was helpful, It had everything covered in terms of what to expect from hotel, info on the area, what to do, where to go, places to visit, etc etc.

Overall very lovely hotel with polite and welcoming staff. Wish I had stayed on few more nights!

Room Tip: ring up and book over the phone where you will be told straightaway if you have sea view or not. If...

Thank you so much for such fantastic comments. It is thrilling to know we have met all your needs and expectations. I am very pleased to find out that you have had a good night sleep with no disturbance at all. Also, great news about joining our Loyalty Scheme. We thought of rewarding our customers for their loyalty and friendliness and Loyalty Scheme seems to be working just fine. I believe I will see you here at Mode at some point in the future again, hopefully for a longer stay.

After spending a few days in the fells of the Lake District, we arrived at Lytham St Annes for a four day interlude, with our lungs gulping in the sea air. Mode Hotel is the ideal place to chill out - it's right on the promenade, and our room had a balcony and a great view of the coastline. From the moment we arrived we were blown away by the courtesy and helpfulness of the staff, Hannah, Anna and Alicia. Modern decor, good linen, plentiful hot water, and parking (if not in the hotel carpark, then just across the road, free) speedy wifi, and a fresh continental breakfast! Great mixed grain bread for toasting, freshly prepared fruit salad, and a good selection of spreads, marmalade, marmite, and jams. Thanks Mode - you are doing it well!

Room Tip: Any of the rooms facing the sea would be a preference. Traffic noise is not an issue.

Dear Travellerholic,

You definitely have made our day with such great words. Hannah, Alicja and I are thrilled to be mentioned. I am so pleased to know you have had a great experience here at Mode. Certainly, our sea view rooms are our best seller due to the great views and the balconies. Must mention, that our land view rooms are also finished to the same high standard with the same amenities provided. Unfortunately, I cannot change the view. Thank you for pointing out on our breakfast, we put our hearts into the preparation each morning, ensuring all selected items are fresh and there is plenty of choice. I would love to see you here at Mode again, hopefully in not too distant future.

Best Regards,
Anna

A lot better than it's sister hotel, the Glendower, down the road. Rooms are modern, spacious and well kept...a shaving mirror, light and detachable shower attachment would make the room even better.
Breakfast was adequate but the breakfast room had the atmosphere of a railway waiting room.
At times the receptionist who doubled as a waitress struggled to cope if all the guests decided to breakfast at the same time.
The marmalade supply was non existent.
Diabetic options would have been appreciated.
The car park is a bit tight, holding just about 9 cars......I was very impressed when the management reserved a place for us, as my partner has walking difficulties.
There is a lift to all floors and although rather slow, is a great asset.
Would recommend a sea view room.
Staff were polite and extremely helpful.
Would definitely stop here again and bring my own marmalade!

Room Tip: A sea view room is a better option.

Dear john s,
A big thank you for your recent stay with us and valuable feedback. Staff are very pleased to mentioned. It is always great to know their hard work has been appreciated. We took your comments on board and stocked with marmalade and diabetic options, i.e. slimline tonic. There are 2 members of staff on busy periods, especially over the weekends, looking after our guests during the breakfast. As you have noticed, the breakfast room can get full due to its size. Unfortunately, I am not able to alter its size. I would if I could. In regards to the car parking space, it is important to us for the needs and requirements of our guests to be met. There is nothing better than happy residents. Thank you for your time and I do hope to see you again.

Best Regards,
Anna
