Went here for the Valentines dinner and it was amazing. The staff looked after you and they had a lady and guy on guitar who were really good. The food was to a very high standard and was delicious.

We had booked a table for eight to celebrate a birthday and we knew that we were in for a good evening when Stanwell House prepared a special and personalised menu for us. We were given a large circular table in a comfortable window area which was ideal for the occasion. The food was excellent with a wide choice of fish, meat or game for the main course - the starters and puddings were very good too.
We were very well looked after throughout the evening and all agreed that it had been a really special occasion.

We decided on a bank Holidayl to go to Lymington for lunch. Someone had recommended Stanwell House - we were told, there are light bites , a menu @ £9.95 for two courses (a small choice of each course), or a la carte.
We sat in the conservatory - which was very pleasant and found the staff very friendly.
As we were not particularly hungry went for a lite bite, my hubby ordered prawns bound in guacomole with lettuce on a ciabatta and I had beef and horseradish sauce, also on a ciabatta My hubby had Tea and I ordered a Latte.
That is where we feel we were let down,/ After some time my "drink" was brough with a florish - but it was wrong, it was a cappucino - appologies were given and they said they would get me the correct drink.
After some time my hubby's Tea arrived. A Tea Pot, jug of milk and a glass beaker. with a little dish with some biscuits.
I waited, waited, had a nibble of one of the biscuits..........our food arrived, nicely present BUT definitely not we know as ciabatta, more like a soft Bap, and my hubby had to look for the guacamole - the prawns were certainly not bound in it!!!! Eventually my Latte came, - it certainly was not hot - by this time it was just easier to eat, drink and go on our merry way.
My reason for this review, is to mention that we thought the drinks were EXHORBITANT.
Must mention we were not given a drinks menu of any sort, so didn''t know the price of drinks.
His Tea, yes it was Earl Grey, but for £2.95!!!! and my lukewarm Latte was £2.50 !!
We have been to better places were the drinks were not so overpriced.
The only good thing can recommend were the biscutis served with the "hot" drinks and the courtesy and friendliness of the staff

We booked a meal out here as a special treat whilst on holiday, we booked for a set menu in the restaurant. On arriving we were ushered to the seafood bar, which was stiflingly hot and had been at the time of booking which was why we specifically didn't want to go there. We were given the normal menu and had to ask for the set meal . The food was very good but as we were choosing dessert we had the surreal experience of the whole table (cloth and all) being cleared by a very surly tight lipped waiter. He then returned explaining that he had thought we were new people just arriving- as if this could explain the rudeness- and then reset the table with damp cloths. Two glasses of wine were then plonked on the table with a very curt comment about 'the trouble'. To topit allVAT was charged on top of the set price which made the whole meal very expensive for what it was. We made a point of checking the set menu on the way out and there was no mention of VAT on it . The only reason we didn't complain was that this was supposed to be a treat for our autistic daughter and we didn't want to ruin it by causing a fuss. We left feeling very uncomfortable. Some of the food looked lovely but they need to get their customer service sorted out.
