“Outstanding roast Welsh Lamb to die for”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 October 2011

We have been visiting the Ship Inn for drinks only for forty years. This year we stayed for lunch, eating out on the terrace overlooking Fisherman's Quay. You order your food at the bar as the Ship is really a traditional pub.Myt wife had the salmon and bubble and squeak, which was beautifully cooked and served. I had the shoulder of Welsh lamb roasted for four hours with roasted vegetables. This was the best lamb i have ever had. It was tender and just perfect. the price was very good value at £16 each and the service by young people was cheerful. Highly recommended

“Dirty, Lack of Clean Tables, Poor Management”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 September 2011

Dirty tables, outside needs good sweep, soggy potatoes and Manager does not care when you complain about the food. Staff changes all the time which is why the service is poor.

“disappointing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 September 2011

I always look forward to a trip tp the ship, but what a disappoinbtment this time.

the menu has changed, a lot of the old favourites missing - the food I did order - overpriced prawn cocktail that was bulked out with lettuce and tomato, too few prawns; burger and fat chips that were soggy, tasteless and frankly inedible - I left them all; burger bun so dry it disintegrated.

we'll return for a drink and to sit by the quay, but will eat elsewhere.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch and champagne cocktail with the family and dog! Good menu and child options too. Dogs allowed in and out. Good service. A haven from the rain!

“Great location, good beers, nicely prepared food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 August 2011

The Ship is somewhere we bounce back to whenever we visit Lymington - largely on account of the large sun terrace looking right out onto the harbour, a great place to have a leisurely summer lunch or early evening meal and watch the world go by. The menu is varied and we have always found something to please including some limited but excellent vegetarian choices; they always have at least one guest ale, this time from a local microbrewery; and although it's seldom quiet, we have never had to wait for a table.
