A relative of mine had previously been here so my husband & I thought we'd pop in to try it for ourselves on-route to going home to London. A good selection of local ales & beers and there was a choice of 2 menus for food, each had a good selection to choose from (Kids menu was separate and we had to ask for this, but also had a nice selection for children too). We went for the pork roast and for my son fish fingers, cups and peas. Didn't have to wait long for our food which came out nice and hot. Lovely big Yorkshire pudding and a nice selection of vegi's to the side. Only downside was just a tad more gravy would have been nice on my plate (my husband seemed to have sufficient amount on his), but either way, there was sufficient amour to enjoy all the meal. Lovely big roast potatoes too and it was nice to get freshly made fish fingers for my son, of with he ate every bit. Overall pub nicely presented and sill with its oldy world wooden beams that you would expect in an old pub, slightly fresh and modern looking on the outside but all the character still remains on the inside. Staff nice and friendly too and only too happy to help.
