9 of us spent a long week end there - what a gem!
Located bang in the middle of the old town, yards away from the marina, surrounded by great little shops and nice pubs. The house itself has been decorated with great taste, offering a great, cosy confort. Owner has been very helpful and easy to communicate with.
The New Forest has so much to offer we could not possibly see everything in 3 days - we will come back!
We booked a few days over half term. The house is in a very central location but there are too many problems.
It’s very loud at night as you’re on a cobblestone street so kids, drunks and wheelie cases keep you awake and the screaming. scooters and boy racers went on all night.
It was freezing cold for 12 hours before we managed to get some heat in the place. It stayed freezing downstairs but was roasting upstairs. Oh and the house stank of drains, lots of plug in air purifiers around the house buzzing away to try to zap the stench.
Finally and this was the show stopper, there is a motorbike mechanic workshop behind the house. The noise of revving bikes was unbearable almost shaking plates off the shelves and the fumes came through the old walls so badly we had to open all the windows, making the house even colder. I asked them to stop the revving and was told they’d been there 39 years so tough.
The sad fact is the owner was not at all interested in our problems, no apology and they did not take any responsibility.
Avoid this place it literally stinks.
